hey bbwolf - good to hear from you !

I'll check out that site and swing by your sketchbook soon as I can, so you'd better get updating.

RSI - repetitive strain injury, I've managed to kill my drawing hand pretty bad through work over the last few years, but it got pretty bad so I had to stay off it for a while.

    Gah.

Anyways, I'm back at work now, and if I can work then I can draw !

Long time no update, been stupid busy with work and stuff...excuses excuses.

anyway, here's a small sculpture I did of my ear, first sculpture for me, so it took aaaaaages...should probably have gone on and smoothed it all out and stuff but i'm a bit vague on all that, and it's really gone as far as it needs to go i think.

I thought it might help me with my form if I mix up the drawing with some sculpture here and there.

Hey bbwolf, Cheers for the reply, quick too !

I just got totally tied up in work and stuff so my drawing suffered loads, plus I got in a bit of a wierd state where I had no energy to draw cos my hands were hurting from work all the time...gah.

Hopefully I can stay on top of things now and stay motivated I've got a pile of books to work through !

The ear was done in Chavant Pro Plastecine, working on a skull now but I keep cutting it up and starting from scratch so it might be a while yet.

Meant to post this, illustration from a little while ago.

Got some newer sketches and stuff to scan tomorrow.

Thanks Bill, I'd like to develop that stuff a bit more - tend to work better when I've got a story or something to focus on.

DSG1471 - The dragon emerges from it's winter hibernation.

I really DID try and get away from line art.

    Gotta work on form.

good work, the sculptures and your foam model of the room are amazing, I would recommend for your pencil drawings to really push your line weight, try and vary it up more, and also try and be as fluid as possible. looks great.

Thanks localfatheaded - I'd like to get more 3d stuff done, hopefully it will help me get a better feel for form too !

Yeah my lines are pretty much the same the whole time, well spotted ! I'll have a play with that, thanks.

Think I really need to start looking at things and experimenting a lot more.

OK so a few bits from the last day or so, been a bit engrossed in drawing heads.

Going to start working through my big pile of anatomy books soon...am too...any time now...

wowie-zowie. First almost a year of hibernation and now you have the drop on us. Nice going. I like youīre rugged style. Wish I could do such things. Mebbe Iīll give it a try sometime. But I gotta tell that these cartoons look REALLY flat. too flat that is. What else are you upt o these days?

haha ! thanks bbwolf, i REALLY struggled colouring the cartoons, i was expecting to find it easier to be honest.

decided i need to go back and work through all the basic stuff if i'm going to improve on things like that but i keep getting sidetracked with more fun stuff.

i had another go at one of the heads, and did a second one which despite my best efforts is still just as flat. gah. i will persevere !

quick painter of my attempt at DSG 1473, am going to redo this from scratch so any suggestions on how to improve it will be appreciated.

i'm thinking initially to make the tunnel as convincing as possible, first, and then work in the extra elements like the tree root and pipes/cables.

might experiment with it like this for a while first, maybe try different tunnel lengths and stuff.

...and of course redo the engine !

Hey MrDigs. You seem to be my "kind of guy" with the models, sculptures and digital painting. And of course all the wacky faces...
I am not knocking your earlier work but your last digital work seem to be a real improvement - Bumskee's digital painting thread? I'll have to find that thread myself.

Great work, keep updating, I'll be keeping an eye on you.
