    Color set question

I've created a new color set. When I try to save it, my only option is as a "PCS" file; however, most of the color sets in Painter's Color Sets folder are "TXT" files.

The PCS files appear to be text files: I was able to open a PCS file in NotePad, which is a text editor.

Anyone know why Painter uses two different designations for Color Sets: PCS and TXT? Is there any advantage of using one over the other?

If there is an advantage to using TXT files, can I just open a PCS file I created in NotePad and then save it as a plain text file without encountering any problems?

    Can I just

PCS must stand for Painter Color Set. Most applications use this kind of naming convention for their files. I wouldn't worry about.

    Howard,

You can save your custom Color Sets in either PCS or TXT format and Painter will recognize the files.

As you know, either format can be opened in a text editor.

As rogfa says, "I wouldn't worry about (it)."

Please do not PM me with Painter questions. Instead, post them here where everyone can benefit from them. Thanks!
