    Montreal - Québec- PQ

Looks like the other Montreal thread is doomed so I started this new one.

We saw at the workshop that there are Montrealers on CA, now let's get organised!

What do you guys want? Sketch groups? Monthly life drawing? A mailing list? Post your ideas here!

Btw I got the contact info of the blonde female model at the workshop, I tought she was quite good, and I might try to get the info on her male friend.
I'd like to have life drawing sessions, not something like Uqam but something we have a bit more control on.

I'd really be interested to get the info of the male model and if we manage to set something up here to have him on.

I really liked to met you at the workshop girls ! Can't wait for a new meeting. I hope we'll find a lot of people. I think Mokuu would be interested too.

Don't mind the way I write if you understand what I want to say !

Damn, are only chicks in Montreal? Where are the guys?

Btw, anyone knows a good art supply store aside from Omer? I don't mean L'Oiseau Bleu, I don't want to do bead necklaces, I wanna paint!

Anyone ever went to Kamapigment on Jean Talon, is it worth it? http://www.kamapigment.com/index_fr.html

There's the illustrator's coop too. I talked with one of their members when Dessie closed. I can't remember the address tho.

St-Laurent des arts. They are a little co-op art store at 4633 St Laurent. I think you pay a $15 membership, but the prices are waaaaaay better than Omer. Selection isn't as good, but all the painting and drawing supplies are well represented.

I'm very interested in doing some life drawing. Excellent!

I used to go to that one all the time (actually met Viag and other CA members there.), till they stoped around march, anyone called them to ask if they started it again?

Last week I renewed my membership at the st laurent des arts store and asked about the life drawing. The guy said they stopped and may be starting again in the fall, but they needed to find a space to do it. He said that people weren't coming regularly and so they had to stop. =(

Is there anywhere else? I just want to draw!

I am in Montreal (Laurier) and I speak French too. I am up for CA events/meetups, so let me know.

Btw: I would like to take drawing classes in Montreal (accelerated if possible), does anybody here have any recommendations on where I should go?

Mokuu: those are actually classes with an instructor, hence the price, I'm not sure how good the instructor is but the Gallery itself is slightly dodgy from what I gathered from other artists.

    You can ask more here:
    Roger Robitaille
    alternance@moncanoe.com

They also have exhibits but you have to pay to have your stuff on their walls. Something like 30$ a piece.

And now for something completely different!

Well not that different. BD Montréal 2006 will soon be over (jul 23) so be sure to hit the Salon du Livre, Chapiteau bdmontréal - boulevard de Maisonneuve east of Sanguinet !!! Personally, I'm going to try and gather my courage to have a doodle made by Boulet...

    http://www.hahaha.com/fr/2006/festiv...-montreal.html

    I need to go there!
