From imdb.com: Set hundreds of years after the first movie, the sequel follows a mysterious girl made of fire who steals a shard of the crystal in hopes of reigniting the dying sun.

My favorite part of the original movie is whenever all the mystics hummed that low drone....very cool sound

OMGNERD! No one says HOT DAMN anymore!

Yeah, I just heard about this too. Sooooo excited!!! It was my fave as a kid, second only to The Neverending Story. Btw, did any other girls have a total crush on Atreyu?

I loved the Skeksis. I hope they don't bring back Fizzgig, though. Effing yappy pomeranian bastard dog. That thing was like the Jar Jar of its time.

I should see the first one again, I hardly remember anything about it.

I want them to do a live action sequel to the Labyrinth. That'd be totally boss.

But they're only doing a manga.

    SO FREAKING AWESOME.

Dark Crystal was definitely in my Top 4 movies as a kid (along with Labyrinth, Neverending Story, and Pee Wee's Big Adventure).

as a kid i always loved that movie, but seeing that picture reminds me how much i hated the look of the gelfling's... i was more afraid of them than the skeksis.

i hope they do the original justice.

Yeah, great flick. Go out and get the DVD at Walmart for like 9 bucks, if you havent seen it. Has anyone heard if the movie is going to be made with puppets again or are they going to take the CG road? CG would probably look better, and allow them to do things that aren't possible with puppets, but would also give it a typical surreal look and not be consistent with the original. Personally, I hope they go the puppet route.

Yeah. I believe it will all be with puppets and animatronics. At least that's what I hope they mean by "live action." Jim Henson's CG creatures really don't cut the mustard. And besides, their puppets are what make them what they are. It's that kind of mechanical innovation and workable design that I loved about Dark Crystal and Labrynth

    NO WAY!!!

part of me is really stoked, the other is kind of afraid they'll ruin the whole mystic of the original... but i suppose if they've waited this long and tartakovsky is working on it, well like the transformers live action, we'll just have to wait and see.

c'mon magicgoo, what girl our age didn't have a crush on atryu?
