    nachodoodles (update: sep 7th)

Hey guys, I'm making a new thread because my old one is.. well old.
Haven't posted new stuff in quite some time. I hope I'll update this thread more often than the old one. I'll kick things off with a big dump:

Did these two after watching one of Scott Robertson's Gnomon DVDs, fun stuff.

    nachodoodles (update: sep 7th)

    nachodoodles (update: sep 7th)

Here's a Selfportrait from a few weeks ago:

    nachodoodles (update: sep 7th)

    And this one's from today:

    nachodoodles (update: sep 7th)

Did this yesterday, my character for an artbattle at the german digitalartforum.

    nachodoodles (update: sep 7th)

    A dead bird from life:

    nachodoodles (update: sep 7th)

Some sketches that were obviously influenced by Wesley Burt.. I try to steer away from emulating his style. He's been a far too big influence on my pencil stuff for quite a while now and slowly I'm developing my own style with the pencil. The realization that his style just doesn't feel natural to work in for me helped a lot. I've really been struggling with this for a while. I'm gonna post more pencils with the next update.
    nachodoodles (update: sep 7th)

Ok, that's it for now, for more stuff you can go to my blog or click your way through my horribly chaotic webspace.

Crits and comments are always welcome!

    awesome wonderful stuff.
even though the wes influense is pretty obvious in the last sketches, I stil think you've got an own style. wouldn't worry too much.

really cool colors and strokes, keep it up!

Hey thanks for the replies guys!
Here are two pages from my sketchbook, a selfportrait I did today after looking through Andrew's SPs..
I'm pretty happy about how it turned out, since I struggle with selfportraits in pencil quite a bit.

And a quick sketch of my girlfriend and a friend..

Aw damn I completely forgot about this thread..
Thanks for the replies and reminding me of this thread.

Here's a sketch from a week ago, pencil, red fine liner and white acrylic on very very old paper. I found a pile of that paper in an old drawer in the basement of my school a few years ago. It's my biggest treasure, I use it from time to time and it's awesome.

    nachodoodles (update: sep 7th)

and a selfportrait, you can see the steps HERE.

Ive been following your progress through your blod that i discovered a while back.
Like the painterly approach to the selfportraits, they seem warm and fuzzy, i like!
it was funny how you mentioned how you liked astranauts, i feel the same way, total badass'!

The new city und school have treated me good. artschool is a great experience, although me and my conceptart-style buddies are quite a rare species around here

Anyways, here's some personal stuff from the past weeks.

Aaargh you Germans... damn Talented mo'fo's
I like your style, nice colors and a nice way of rendering.
My only point of critique would be the weak composition in your environment paintings. Most of them seem to be focused on what is happning in the centre of the image, this makes it a bit boring. Try playing around with the compostion of a scene some more. Other than that top notch stuff!!!

    Cheers.

beautiful work! esp the selfportraits.. colors. very nice.

-somehow you seem to have an issue with (becken) and hips though in your figures. Maybe you should do some studies or something

wow just wow...looking at every single one of your images one by one really shows the improvement.

i particurarily like the self portraits and how with the first one you show your steps and the next few are just godlike in comparison lol.....i guess that comes to show that skill comes with practice...and in our case...a lot of playing around in the programs that we use

    definitely want to see more

hell yeah man!! THe last two updates are saucy. the 1st(did you use any ref help for that?) and last enviros + dove pic are especially saucy! Your life sketches are lovely too as is your imagination work. So thats pretty much everything.
(hey a while back you mentioned you had sketches of mine from as far back as 02... at some stage I wan't to put a book together and I have lost some of those old files. I was wondering whether I could call on you later to send me a zip of some jpg's?)
