RECENT UPDATES :
WE'RE STILL LOOKING FOR TEXTURERS AND STORYBOARDERS: email@example.com
here goes with a small project description first
The Omiqron project is a project I've been working on for 2 years already and recently decided to turn into a collaboration project. We are a team of 30 people at the moment doing our best to realise something worthy to watch.
About the project :
We're trying to realise a full-length movie (~1h30) everything done in CG.
The story is set in a huge metropolis where we find a "huge lab". After a war of several years between vampires and humans who tried to live together calm is coming back to the city of Omiqron but with the lab being build some weird things started to happen. The destiny of the humans is in the hands of the vampires, and that of the vampires in the hands of humans. Will they manage?
The "Official" Website : http://omiqron.caveman-digital.com
our team :
right now we're 40 people working on this project going from concept through 3d through animation all the way to post production and we kinda hope release aswell . we got people from all over the world working on this and it is getting bigger and bigger
At the moment we're working on a small trailer of a couple of minutes to see how things go, get the team together and see how everything turns out regarding quality, collab and especially public reaction (which is growing everyday with 250 visits a day on the website (which we're rebuilding )
well that is enough talk I think hehe lets move on to the more interesting part the pictures (there is a mix of 2d and 3d work hope that is ok )
2D work first :
main work done by Laurentiu Butuc and Cyril Ciro Mihanovic
lets move on to the 3d
work done by James Astley, Sylvain Bouland and Paul Larkin
some city work
some character work
and a small start of rigging (made by me)
this is of course just a small selection of all the work done by the 40 people on the project
hope you like it comments would be great

The 3d stuff is much better than the 2d stuff.
The weapon design is pretty lacking. Even if the rendering was good, the design of the last axe is... odd. Axes use a chopping motion, it's angled head getting the most out of the lowering motion of the arms. That axe looks like you'd have to almost try to stab your opponent with it, or use it with a slashing motion, which would render the bulk of axe useless.
...sorry, I'm a stickler for design
hehe, like that comment cos i did some of the 3d
seriously though, tis a good project to be on. hopefully i can poke jozef to updating this thread every week or so
most people are like slinkys; they have no real purpose or meaning but you cant help smile when you push them down stairs
Thanks Rhineville for your comments appreciate them
Thanks James yup good project with great people who know how to make windows glad to have you on board
here goes with some very small updates of concept I recieved yesterday thought I should post them before making an even bigger update

Wow the 3d stuff look superb and the city rendering is just amazing! I think that weapons design could be little better but hey! who care about how it look on the paper? the goal is that it sell in 3d ;p

Well it was about time we posted a new update. Things are moving on smoothly and we're working now on concept, modelling and we started animation aswell. Hoping to be able to show some insane work pretty soon
here goes for some pictures
Modelled and textured by Sylvain :
this is one is rather special it took three months to finish
the main artists on this were/are (because some more work is left on it ) :
Jaison Duell Wilson (Texturing)
James Astley (3D Modeller)
Ron Foskett (3D Modeller)
James Azzopardi (3D Modeller)
Jozef van Eenbergen (3D Modeller, Project Leader).
It represents one of the main street we'll be using for a first animation sequence for the actual project. The street is rather abandonned and in a post-war state
A lot of hard work has been put into this by all of those people and I would like to thank them a lot for there dedication to the project.
Thank you for watching
Massive undertaking your doing to create a feature length animation totally commend you on doing that all seem to be coming along nicely. Just amazed by the profession quality of your work I hope it come together for you and your team good luck.
'I HAVE NOT FAILED.I'VE JUST FOUND 10,000 WAYS THAT WON'T WORK.'
Yeah it's great to see you working hard on this. I think the street scene is very good texture wise. The lighting can be overdone a little bit more if you ask me, more contrast and the sunlight could be warmer. I think that will add to the effect. Hope to see lots more soon.
Thanks Eku_11, we're having great fun with all this, as you said a lot of work but everybody on it right now is very dedicated to the project and we all wish to see it come to an end .
Thanks jmBoekestein (of terwijl hartstikke bedankt ) appreciate your comments great fan of your work seen most of it on cgtalk didnt knew you had work here aswell .
Well this project didnt die on the contrary still working hard and a first character is getting close to completion and we have started animation aswell. all the shots for the second scene have been written down and are being animated at the moment by the different animators
here is some of our recent work :
and some lipsyncing I started doing the last weekend
I'm doing some wiring etc I finished the morph targets and came up with a total of 10 expression morphs and 10 phonetics which should do the trick to get him talking (I hope) so now putting everything together in a interface to mix jaw, tongue mouth en face mouvements together in one small bundle
of course this is just some small work of everything being done but this is the closest to finished
comments + crits appreciated
Uhm... one of those viking-guys is just a copy from a games-workshop piece. If you want people to take you seriusly you shouldnt do ripoffs like that.
Life is a promise
hum really? which one please? because I'll know is that it has been drawn by our concept artist Sedeslav and I dont know where he gets his inspiration but if it really is a "rip-off" as you say of course I'll take it away
The second one from the top, in the post where you started talking about medieval stuff. I'm sorry if I sounded a little harsh, but It really is copied straight off a conceptsketch done by the game workshop artists.. I don't get why he would do that. All the other stuff you have done looks nice and ambitius to me.
Well good luck with the project anyway!
Life is a promise
Thanks Kaya fixed it .
a small note:
We're looking for texturers and mattepainters capable of making high quality and close to real textures and well a 360° landscape mattepainting fitting in the city environnement (would include sea, mountains, city itself (Vancouver kinda idea )
if you would be interested send me an email at: email@example.com
Time for some updates again been a while
We're still alive and kicking (and looking for concept artists again )
this is our second finished character:
and some texturing work:
and some other work for an appartment:
At the moment we're restructering the whole project a bit and well we're kinda starting to concept again but this time not for the small trailer which is getting close to finished but for the actual serie of episodes so if you are interested send me an email
ps: happy new year
