    (_ The Vanished King _) +2 bonus

Hello CA, long time no see !
too much time, some lack of free time has kept me away from here !
But, here's a brand new pic inspired by an old Grimm tale, can't find the English title, but it's about an emperor and a bird ^^

Edit : here I put 2 experiences I made about sci-fi oriented themes... needed a change
it was fun to do, still digging to find my marks on this kind of works...

Neat piece! I like how the textures in this one feel like paint where in your older work it felt like paper textures. The standing figure is just excellent. Always exciting to see your work.

I think its about time you did a step by step, always fun to see your work. Again though there are some tangencies that are bugging me and some things are alittle hard to read. The most noticeable one is on the 2 characters, on the back leg, you have a line going through his knee that connects right on the egde of the other guys robe. And then on the front leg, the birds wing hits right at the edge of of the leg as well.

I always feel joy inside when I see you have posted something new. It's interesting to see how your work evolves, lot more hard colors then before now.

I like how I can look at this for some time and still discover new shapes and lines.

You study medical illustration? Must be very different from the work you post here.

I often like your work malin and id like to say that here, however with this peice im not quite sure if the piece is working as nicely as your normal work.

to take on the piece in general im not quite sure if the spaces are working correctly, as in the spaces are roughly equal in size and the birds are not activating the spaces nor the figures as much as they could. the thing (as it is unfortunate that i can't quite identify it) is pointing into the empty space on the right and not activating it. the space is awkward and not in the fashion that normally makes your work pleasing. were kind of close but not close enough, were kind of war but not far enough.
i know your work works because it likes to break some of these rules, which is why i decided to comment on this one, because im not sure if it all quite works.

secondary non composition concerns i have are why is the guy standing walking from the direction of the sitting fellow. if he is emerging out of him i would like to see that made clearer. also the anatomy on the walking fellow i feel is bulky in a renaissance fashion on a figure that is meant to be bones and such. also the outline of the muscles on his front leg arnt quite correct simplifications of anatomy, when it seems there is an attempt to be correct.
also, are theyon the edge of a cliff? and why is the lighting the way it is? it seems strange without going all the way. my suggestion (2 centsworth) is to look at your other pieces and examine how they are working and then take a look at this piece. its all about the spaces.

Yes, very cool indeed, fresh, love it. And the placement of teh standing figure is odd, foot in other crouch. Love your line, paint, blacks.

Love this one very much !

It's funny because the figure on the right remans me a sculpture of Rodin :" The man who walk".

I like it alot. Fitcher's bird is perhaps the tale? Wizard-king who chops his wives up and is tricked by a woman dressed as a bird?

You're famous here! I will have to go look at more of your stuff.

Thank you a lot my friends !

LadyHydralisk >> Nope, not the right tale, but the one you mentionned sounds attractive, I'll look forwrd to it ! hope you liked the website

Agata >> huhu wanted a statue feeling indeed, and it ended this way... I wasn't thinking about Rodin, but sometimes the artists you like just pop up in your own work, this is quite funny

conor , matt smith >> I don't really know what to answer, I'm lot more instinctive while I'm working, I love to play with lines and make accidents occur...

marko >> your last post were pure dope, with the marvel stuff, I didn't drop by but the feelings were in me anyway, believe me !

to everyone of you, once again a big thank you , I put on top 2 experiences I made recently, trying to make a little approach to sci-fi ariented themes... work in progress !
