    edit: nevermind....I'm a dumbass

lets just say Ilaekae stands up for what he believes in.....I probably shouldn't have said anything....didn't mean to be offensive.....I guess that I should try harder to make it obvious that I'm joking.

Nofinger, I'm apologizing here, too. I get cranky late at night and shouldn't be allowed near a pencil or keyboard.

My reaction is almost automatic when someone uses the term hippy as a slur. There are more than a few people here who do it, and everyone of them pisses me off.

Lets agree to pretend we didn't say what we did and start over fresh...

You're right, Oregano. It is an interesting read. I'm going to have to read it again in a few days, because I can't get my brain comfortably around some the things mentioned...thanks for posting it.

Just a few comments - gotta rush a first draft submission for 11am.

Imagine being a one-legged person trapped in a two-legged body, said the speakers.
I dare the idiot to say this in front of returning veterans from OIF who are single, double, triple and even quadruple amputees.

he wants to use cyber- and biotechnology to elevate all animals to human status.
I wonder - since when did humans become an "elevated" status in the biological world? Many invertebrates, insects and so on have equally complex communities and cultures compared to us humans. To "elevate" animals to human status means there is already a superiority complex - meaning these guys are a bunch of crockshit assholes who think they know more than the guy sitting next to them.

Remember those kids who played Dungeons and Dragons and ran the science fiction club in your high school? They've become transhumanists.
    Guess I missed the memo...

How could you miss the memo...it was on the refrigeratore right between the Area 51 map and the "How to act like you have a brain in your head" article from US magazine...

So we live with it..., and adapt, like we did with other unnacceptable or ultra weird things that now are "normal".

We can always lock ourselves in our studio and pretend things are not the way they are.
