Hey bro, that larger pencil piece is really coming along. The rendering looks really great like i said before. With your SPs, maybe try different angles/"styles" etc, because at the moment, most of them look just about the same. Would be awesome to see some variation man. Keep rockin.

    Good stuff man !
The lines are nice and clean.
though i think changing a tiny bit the shapes of the facial features would make them a bit more interesting =)
    Keep working !

great man! im starting to do colour now too

atm I dont think theres anything to crit, just keep doing what you are doing and you will see improvement like a mofucka

I know Ive been bugging you about this but I cant stress it enough, draw from life!! If you need ideas, do a still life of anything that has nice lines and shapes for you to practice the mode of thinking on, fruit is pretty good practice if you get alot of them out (though they can be abit boring to render), more hands like you posted there (those a pretty good actualy) A cast would be super duper if you could find one and if its cheap... you really do need to learn how to draw from life acuratly, or else you will not be able to interpret it through imagination!

I know you are a bit clogged up with school work though which is really a shame You might even consider cutting down imagination sketches for a little bit to work on drawing from life...

Thats my opinion anyway, glad you are feeling good about art Im working stuff out myself and might not post for a while but yarrr keep it up, we should totally share our colour discoveries later man

Looking sweet, made some awesome improvement especially in the painting department, the pears look kickass!
Watch that the shadows dont get too muddy, a tiny hint of colour at the edges would help i think.
Pencil work is improving as well, push the contrast on the rendered pieces. Your lines are good and confident, keep studying anatomy to give them more structure and form.

    Hey spade !!
Good updates. And i agree that the paintings look nice.
About the pencil work, i think a good method for shading might help you:
    http://www.erikgist.com/images/forum/Page11.jpg
I do this type of landmarks (?) often if i prefer going as far as possible with the lines first.
    Keep working hard !!

    Great work dude, keep improving!
Renderings are looking better, watch the white point in your form, leave the white of the paper as a highlight not a midtone and you'll get more depth!

nice man Recursive_End speaks the truth aswell, draw in shapes and contours , map in the shadows and mesure how they relate... It is through these shapes that you will get a likeness of your subject. Its not really a matter of "im drawing these lips too small and the eyes too big" (altough maybe a little) its more like "the top of the lips form a shape with the bottom of the nose, but mine is a little bit off" or whatever... lol I know I tell you this in basicly everypost but when I was learning this I had no idea wth drawing from life actually was so I wasted heaps of time doing it the wrong way (although, you can ofcourse argue that by doing it the wrong way you learn from your mistakes)
lol I dunno Im starting to ramble now but LOL CYA!!

Conclusion: draw shapes dangit! like every shape you see!

    very good work
I have nothing to say on the quantity of your work. Keep that up.
The last one is good, the darks add alot of depth. But the mid tones don't do the transition pretty well to the lights. Work a bit more on your planes, and make the mids vary a bit more. Avoid shading for the sake of shading, define more the form.
    Keep working hard !!

looking back at your first posts its interesting to see how you have learnt more control over your pencil skills, and the lines you place down are more effective now. Keep studying as much as you are now, even more if you can, and by page 5 you will have learned a lot more.

keep working like this for awhile! imo its what you need most... What I found really helpful was doing longer studies everyday, spend more than an hour on one still life, it makes you notice problems and finding ways to fix them much more than with a shorter one... anyway, keep it up
