Animal House is good. But I gave up on this list when Meet the Parents beat out Young Frankenstein.

    That's just shameful

that's a pretty schitzophenic list. I'll stick with AFI. At least Caddyshack got no. 2, but there are some seriously "whaaaa?" movies up there

I'd say they are good choices, but maybe in the wrong order. But it is missing my fav. comedy of all....Bruno Ganz's "Downfall"

Animal House is suposedly George W. Bush's faviorte movie.

Gee... only three funny Brit movies ever... 'Fish Called Wanda', 'Holy Grail' and 'Four Weddings and a blah blah blah'. And even two of those have got to have a colonial in to make it funny. Guess 'Life of Brian' wasn't amusing after all. Who votes for these things anyway? A bunch of 30 something execs with a quiet afternoon and have never heard of anything made before 1985?

And ParkerD, I'm depressed now to think Georgy Bush laughs at John Belushi too. 'Downfall' is hilarious though. I'm cracking up right now thinking of that guy with the silly moustache... *wipes away tears of laughter*. (Incidentally, Jamie Lee Curtis from 'Fish Called Wanda' is also known a Baroness Haden-Guest of Saling in the County of Essex, 'cause of her marriage to Christopher Guest. Funny old world innit?)

    'Broadcast News' is funny!!!???

    Poshspice,
I had a great laugh throughout Downfall. It was hilarious watching all those guys scrambling like trapped rats knowing that their end was coming soon. haha!

How do you rate "sense of humor"??

If they base on "the most seen", then you have to take into count that that depends on the publicity campain of each movie and the time they came out.....I mean Police academy???. Funny when you were a kid, but most of the jokes are quite silly.

Alos there are factors that make a a movie better, but is not nessesarily funnier, just better.......

I don't know if anyone is still reading this particular thread but I just saw the list for the first time and I wouldn't even put half these movies on the list...and the ones that would stick need to be seriously rearranged.

Just as an aside, I don't believe in putting a "series of films" in one spot. For instance, grouping all the Naked Gun movies is a disservice to the first Naked Gun, which is easily the funniest of the three and would look stronger on its own. (It would be like doing a dramas list and grouping the 3rd Godfather with the other two).

Me, I just let people watch things and determine for themselves if they're funny or not.

You might as well compile a "Top 100 Opinions" list and let everyone disagree over that.

I was flipping to this durring the commercials while watching The Magnificent Seven the other night and my brother pointed out that they have virtually every Vince Vaugn comedy represented (only excepting Made so far as we could figure). Now, ok, the guy's funny, but come on now. Dodgeball? Are they on gule?

What's the problem? It's their list, not yours.

Obviously they only thought comedy started in the early 70's and that was it.

Oh man. Airplane and blazing saddles do indeed kick a severely unhealthy amount of ass.

Monty python and the holy grail at like 40? WTF
Even after "Legally Blonde" and "The 40 year old virgin". What the flying fuck.

Tastes like a list developed by committee designed to appease the largest possible demograph of viewers.
Which means no single human being will agree with it at all.
