Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
this shall be our weekly sketch book where we focus on a theme a week.
panda has the honour of this week's theme "fairy dragons with fuzzy tails"
the theme ends 10th June, afterwhich someone else will propose another theme/topic/subject.
hahaha, ok, sounds good.
don't expect too much from us after a week; montreal's just around the corner.
you guys are attending?
it's ok if you don't post a lot. i probably won't put up much as i have some web sites to look after these 2 weeks.
I took the red version too
I really like the theme! This should be lots of fun!
Besides, having an open theme lets us practice any technique or skills we want, and it's always interesting see other people's interpretations.
yeah, I'll be in montreal - so you guys can berate me if I don't have a ton of sketches when I get back.
is anyone else going?
Well, I was really inspired by the topic, so let me introduce you to the first Fairy Dragon with a Fuzzy Tail of the SSG XXV group sketchbook!!!! (although I'm not sure if I interpreted the "fuzzy" word the right way...) I'm also considering adding colors to it...
Anyway, here it is!
It kinda looks like a weird chicken, actually
i think it looks like a chicken because the mouth is shaped like a beak. the feet actually remind me of turkeys.
I whole-heartedly approve of the beak Ent. well done
the tail isn't exactly fuzzy and it's not the usual sort of fairy dragon, but
I meant to go a different, better, direction with this, but my tablet wasn't working so I just added some pastels
I really enjoyed yours Craig- the colors really speak to me. Then again, they're the same colors that I use so....
uh - I won't be online for the next couple of days, but I'll have a huge dump on monday. don't kill me!
that's so cute. looks like a puppy. i'll start working on mine later.
Just a WIP. i'm going to do the rest of it digitaly. But heres this just so you know ive been doing something all this time
I broke down and got out Ye Olde dungeons and dragons books for inspiration. Not even 3rd edition DnD, I'm talking the old 2nd edition ones, man that was ages ago...
eek, I still have to do something for this. Please excuse me if I don't participate, my exams have just begun and I'm studying like crazy right now!
I like what you guys have come up with,
entroid - really cute
Craig - also cute, like the colouring. reminds me of a humming bird!
faux pas - that looks mean! look forward to seeing it finished
"Fairy dragons have no legs whatsoever so they tend to die fairly young due to lack of rest."
Thx panda, entroid, and eskay.
faux - That dragon looks a bit too beefy to call himself a fairy dragon -- he's likely to eat my hairy beaked thing and the plump meat nugget from ent.
grue - well, snakes manage pretty well with no legs thx for joining in.
Craig - Snakes don't fly though Lovely community by the way, I think I'll stick around
faux - Thanks mate
Faux: I like the dragon but... where is his fuzzy tail???
Grue: thanks for adding some more variety to the group sketchbook! I like it, maybe if its tail was prehensile it could sleep hanging from branches, just like bats do...
Faux (again): Yeah, it has been more than a week since the first one, I haven't even finished coloring the dragon, unfortunately, but I guess I'll just post it in my sketchbook once it's done.
About the topic, I was playing around with the 3ch generator and this funny theme came up: "A tattooed panda runs towards a delivery dude in a steampunk universe".
I am aware that there is a weekly activity involving 3ch, but these would be just sketches (they don't have to be finished or anything like that), and we wouldn't have to do the whole topic if we don't want to. It would be up to ourselves if we just want to do the tatooed panda or a steampunk environment or a delivery panda or whatever...
Let me know what you guys think!
Entroid: I laughed out loud with your suggestion and not because it is bad
It is because I have never drawn neither a panda nor a delivery dude and although I love China Mieville to bits I have not done a steampunk enviroment either. It will be a nice challenge. I vote we do it!
sorry for missing out the dragon guys, even though i was the one that suggested doing this group thing, i've been rushing to finish up some webpages the past week, should be able to finish them by this week.
i like the idea of the steampunk panda.
This is late in coming, but, I'm going to have to leave the group guys.
I've been accepted into university, and start on the 23rd. I havn't been active in the group since I joined, which I'm sorry for, but I definitely won't have time for it from now on.
I'll remain a member of the site, and might join in the DSG every once in awhile, but I can't say how often or anything.
Once again sorry for being a bit of a dead member, and I hope you guys find someone else to help revive the group!
I wish you all well and maybe I'll see you around the site in the future.
