thanx to Trashy for the topic idea!

    INFO:

    - We need 2 creatures...one being the beauty and one being the beast...
    - 2 different species or 1 male 1 female from the same species...or maybe another combination - it's up to you...
    - both creatures must have a relation between each in their daily life
    - no individual characters, no human like design!!!
    - description needed if not obvious

    I'm just marking my territory.

I CALL THE TRANSFORMATION THEME!!! IT'S MINE DAWGS.

    C.O.W. - #048: Beauty And The Beast

Here is my initial sketches. I plan on using almost a pig headed buffalo type thing, with an accessory pair of arms- then it transforms into the beast with a shorter snout, longer hair, longer, stronger neck, pointier hooves for balance. I want to make it look good though, not just a buffalo with arms... Any suggestions would be nice

Seraph Whales and Angel's Tears (Final):
    C.O.W. - #048: Beauty And The Beast

Planet Cautha is hostile to human life. A dense, rank, humid atmosphere of ammonia and sulfuric gas blankets the surface with a swirling, yellow cloud. Pressures and temperatures well exceed human tolerance. Nevertheless, the heavy metals mining is too good for human settlers to ignore the potential for profit. They've constructed domed colonies and scratch out an existence as best they can.

Seraph whales, one of the planet's few indigenous life forms, thrive in the skys above Cautha. There they live, perpetually swimming through the thick vapor, feeding on the microscopic young of Cautha's other thriving native life form, a silicon based mollusk referred to as "Angel's Tears." Angel's Tears have some things in common with Earth's aquatic barnacles. They are born as microscopic aeropods (a). Mixing with the airborne plankton, they become the primary food source for the seraph whales. Those that survive this larval stage mature (b) and cement themselves to the skin of the whales' head and jaw (c). Once attached, the mollusks form a rock hard protective shell, and breed, spawning millions of aeropods each.

When the Angel's Tears die, the cemented bond loosens from the seraph whales head and the tough shell falls to the planet surface. Human colonists avidly collect the shells much as one would collect seashells on a beach as souvenirs. The silicon crystaline shells are easily polished and carved into a variety of forms. Angel's Tears most often form six-sided shells, though occasionally seven-sided shells are found (d). Whether polished and carved, or left in the rough, their natural beauty is displayed as a native keepsake and a lucky charm in the colonist's home.

here is my first rough wip....
going for a parasite type for beauty, the moth lookin thing, which will have colorful and bright feather/wings. it attaches itself onto male beasts and while surviving off the beast's body, they are used to attract females and prey. bigger brighter beauties can only survive on bigger beasts, which in turn attract more females. the bigger the beauty, the more movement it creates to seem like a floundering bird, and thereby attracting unsuspecting creatures to the beast.
the beast is a semi aardvark/hog/dragon type thing whose natural birth defects create a siamese-twin type creature. ugly i guess.
    all crits appreciated.

i have some issues with your concept...i would like to have really 2 units of creatures instead of 1 transforming into a different shape...

    ...The Beast has spoken. hehe

BTW FOZZ, I think Pixeldargoon has to design two creatures, so technically there are two creatures.
