    Wacom OVERSIZE?

    Hello,

I'm thinking about buying a wacom Intuos 3 A4, but there are many:
    -Wacom Intuos 3 A4 Oversize DTP - 490.49 €
    -Wacom Intuos 3 A4 Oversize CAD - 447.53 €
    -Wacom Intuos3 A4 - 404.50 €

    Overzize means more workspace but:
what is CAD <-> DTP? Which wacom would you recommend? Oversize or not? Is A4 a good tablet size?

    Edit: A4 means 9" x 12". Ovedersize is 12" x 12"
What addapts better to a Monitor: 9x12 or 12x12? 12x19 is a little to big, eh?

Edit2: 9x12 is like 3:4 or 4:3 if you rotate it 90 degree. Monitors size is usually given in the relation 4:3, isn't it? (I have 19")

Well done, you answered your own question

9x12 is a good size, I find. An Intuos3 should serve you well.

Most monitors are close to being square so the squared off one, I'm guessing that's why they have a squared off version.

    Whaaaa?
Monitors tend to have an aspect ratio of 4:3 (unless they're widescreen) ... so the surface area of a 9" x 12" wacom will translate perfectly to the screen area.

I haven't been able to determine why they make squared-off, oversize tablets. I presume they have some reason to be that shape.

But wacom thinks so. Look it up on the european wacom site, and compare the centimeters with the inch.

Wacoms are so yesterday. Real men draw with the lil joystick imbedded in the keyboard. Thats right, all the cool kids are doing it.

Since there's already a Wacom thread, I suppose I'll shove my question in here.

My girlfriend and I desperately want a tablet, but are quite strapped for cash. We want to share one that is larger than 4 x 5, but we're not looking to spend $200 at Newegg. Anyone know anywhere to purchase new or used tablets at easily-swallowed prices? We have quite a bit of low-key work we want to work on in photoshop, but mouse-coloring always takes 10 hours and ends up not-so-great. Help meeeeeez.
