progress with the technical side of ca

    hey everybody...

after losing nearly six months to horrendous hosting failures with liquid web, we have moved on and are now on brand new high end servers with a new data center. the technical problems liquid web could not solve (including ruining our previous server), are now all fixed. We are back at updating 3.0 for conceptart.org. the community site has been upgraded to a new version with instant messenger and will be linked to the profiles again in a few days. we are also in the midst of upgrading vbulliten to the latest version which takes a bit of work. then it is back to bug fixing. once bugs are fixed we are adding the completed mainpage section. the current link community.conceptart.org will become simply conceptart.org as we are adding all main page features to the community section of the site.

we still have a bunch of work to do but we are back to moving forward after finally giving up on liquid webs assistance and moving to a more premier data center. our previous connection time was 50ms. we are now right atop the internet hub in chicago and are connecting at 1ms.

the new tech for community.conceptart.org will be considerably faster than the previous version as that code has been rewritten from scratch. it is not currently optimized as we have a number of mysql adjustments to make etc...as well as bug fixing. progress will be seen by the start of the workshop.

anyhow..thanks to everyone for continuing to post bugs in the forums problems thread. that is very helpful to us. please do not post bugs in this section. I just wanted to let people know what is happening with the site.

    Jason

yeah...we have a very good programmer who helps us and his hands were completely tied by the problems with liquid web. I will never do biz with them again. I think progress should move along quickly. The new servers are all properly set up and debugged...which took about two weeks of daily efforts by the web team just on that note. breached hull fixed...sailing on.

vbulliten upgraded to latest version...tho not sure what new features are added...probably just security stuff....

the music section will become video portfolios/demo reels i think. would like it to serve an art related purpose. all features will be customized for this site in particular.

How do I add someone to my IM list?

EDIT: Found it. You go to their profile page and hit "instant message", brilliant.
