The "Clever Name for Sketchbook" Sketchbook by Michael Pfeffer

Hi, I'm a self taught college dropout who is about to go to art school in the fall so I can get free insurance and not get constantly nagged at by my parents.

I want to be a cartoonist and blah blah blah.

Here are some of my drawingz.

So yeah, there you go. I hope you enjoy all the junk I've done. I draw all cartoony woony and don't color much, probably because I am either a. too lazy, b. don't want to learn, or c. not good at it, most likely the answer is d. all of the above.

I'd link ya'll to my website, but as of right now it's being revamped and it's not quite finished. ( not nearly at all really )

    Seeya !

first of welcome, i hope u enjoy ur stay

I think u got a view quiet good pieces in there, as far as the cartoonist stuff goes fan art won't bring u anywhere. So u might consider skippin those. Other then that id say u got so much line work in there go get em some colors.

There is like four or five original pieces of art there, but I guess I should have labeled them.

I totally understand what you mean though, but fanart is basically a fun way to pratice too.

I also need to learn how to color with my expensive tablet which has made a nice paper weight so far.

Thanks for looking at my stuff.

i really like your scribbles and that portrait is looking good, too. that frog is funny, is that your "logo"? made me smile...
i think dreckster had some really good points here. would like to see more "realistic" stuff (like the bananas and portrait). if you want to learn coloring you should have a look at the "digital painting in photoshop"-thread by bumskee in the photoshop-section. well, you might have already done that, but i thought i'd tell you just in case you haven't. looking forward to new stuff! cheers,

    stine

The frog is the logo to my website, www.carinfrog.com, right now we are rebuilding everything though, so the site is kinda down, but you can see the new logo. I am happy you like it.

I don't draw realistic stuff that much, I have a few pictures I did to get into art school recently, but the shading on them is kinda bad. The values aren't dark enough, but I will post them anyway.

Also I'll post some colored stuff.

good stuff man. Your life sketches show good observation skills. You just need to lay off the fanart for awhile or just do more life stuff to understand how forms work. Having knowledge about forms and how light move will let you work in any medium, in any style.

Hello Concept Art, I've been gone for a very long time.

I want to get better though and don't draw enough. These are the three most recent pictures I've done and they are from February and July respectively. That is not good when you want to get better at the art I believe.

So I have come back because I have no art peers and this place is full of artists that are very very talented and willing to help.

Now I will try to post a clump of art once a week and draw everyday for at least two hours. If I can't do this then I simply am not suited for a career in art.

Any and all help/replies are greatly appreciated. I also know that 5 years ago I was told in 3 posts to stop doing fan art and yet my first post since then is full of fan art. I am off to a bad start.

    Wish me luck I guess?
