thx guys, im glad you like it.
Wingless - hehe thats true, a vodka bottle somewhere would bring great russian flavour.. Now im thinking of adding it on the background layout, like the ak47 if you can spot it.
this is my first serious character concept so Im afrid I dont got more, but I learned allot from this and Im sure next one will be of higher quality. btw this is one of the assignments for the education im applying to.

(: great work and looking forward for more character works
but i wouldnt suggest u make the vodka bottle in the bakground, it might steal ones attraction from the original picture (at the moment it doesnt, but if the bakground is full of objects it might)

Reminds me of Boris the Blade from Snatch because of the machette(sp?)

My only crit is the feet; they're facing away at a pretty extreme angle. It dosen't look bad or anything, I just noticed it looked kind of off.
Other than that, great personality, great design, and great work overall.

the feet seem a bit squished.
but dude a tr00 russian mobster (and i know, im from russia) absolutely MUST shave his head, so no one can pull on the hair, and he MUST have a super expensive suit.
i am hoping u could make a second design with a shaved head and suit maybe?

he looks really great man. very comical and i feel you really get to know him a lot through these drawings. i personally like the off feet and the bits of flatness in some places, it results in a really nice stylo.

nah i actualy disagree a lot.
a true self respecting mobster in russia is all about the flashy clothes and suits and watches and cellphones and rings, etc.
but im sure on his exercising day u could catch him in sweat pants

Doomgriever - thx man, adding one more object in the background would make things meesy thats true, I was thinking of replacing the bottom right object with a vodka bottle, tell me what you think.
Asoir - cheers! Im glad you like it, thats true darkening the top of his belly is a great move to add more depth but just as tensai describes I wanted to keep a simple/comical feel to it, nevertheless thx for the crit!
ArlandoBattle - thx, I made the tilt deliberately.. was thinking that it would be somekind of war injury, alltho im aware of that it doesnt stand out as an injury
Jarri - I had Boris from snatch in mind when adding that machete, alltho he is running around with a meatcleaver :p
Koroshiya001 - your not the first one to crit on the feet :p, alltho im kinda faund of the 'extremness' in it, cheers man thx.
Manslauter - actually his hair is rather short and nobody dares to pull it
He has a suit as you can see in the minioutfits that reflects his life, but at his day and age he is all about comfort.. hah!
he has allready been threw the flashy days and he has grown into a 'I dont give a sh*t, gimmi my money or chop chop' character...
Tensai - wow thx, thats exactly how I feel about this design oO
Charlie 2.0 - thx Im happy you feel so

okayokayokay.... here's the REAL question..... with a name like Kalishnikov, where's the AK? I mean c'mon, i appreciate the nod to the inventor of the most reliable assault rifle on the planet (oh how I hate them so, but they are reliable), but with his name he needs to have a gold plated AK. really.

ya i guess that makes sence.
u know what the really freaky thing is?
i just realised my russian grandpa has the same tattoo as ur guy on his hand. the little crest type of thing?
