Oh oh strych9ine - urgent question:

ImagineFX wants me to send some pics for their gallery section. Can one of them be my tdome pic or rather a mashup of components part-there-of? I understand there's the 'no old art' rule but can work originally for the tdome be appropriated for something else within the period of the round and still be enterable?

    strych9ine, I have a question too.
Can we submit a small explanation with our image to support it,
when we mail the final illustration?
I'm guessing that would be too much work for ya, but still, I wanted
    to make sure.

(Sorry, if this has been asked before..)

Regarding descriptions with your illustration (please keep in mind that Mr. 9 has the final say) but I *believe* that your illustration should do the talking for you.

    From da rules:
You can take this in any direction you want. Keep in mind that the goal of the competition is to create a full-fledged illustration every round, so you'll be judged on your technique, concept, designs, and narrative.

He ain't talking about how well y'all can write

    Loves & hugs

Sure, it's an opportunity you wouldn't want to pass up. This is an exception to the rule, however. It's one thing to put up your hard work in a respectable magazine that will give you personal coverage that you deserve, and another for everyone to post their WIP's around the forums and take away from the suprise of the final unveiling.

I've never been so concerned about a piece... are you guys getting input from friends or family, or what? I've come to rely on CA for critiques so much I'm kind of lost as to which way to go...

On the subject of ImagineFX, I've just got an email back from Rob Carney, the editor, and he's going to give the Thunderdome some press in the next issue. In what form I don't know, but it's going global! (Actually it already was, but now it's hard copy!) So it's ginger beer and cucumber sandwiches all round!

Is ImagineFX aware that this isn't strictly digital? I hope they won't be disapointed if a traditional artist ends up making some big waves here

Thanks Mike, I was just about to say that. I'm no master artist though. I just did a couple of girlie pics for them. Jason Chan got a fantastic issue though. A cover, tutorial and feature. And truly deserved... along with your own feature. Hey what's going on? We're being nice to each other! Back to the trash talking, you bunch of muppets!

Edit: Oooh er.. that looks a bit orange. It didn't look like that before!

They aren't solely digital. They've had features on Frazetta, Chris Foss and this months has an article on Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell.

By the way, why do so many peeps spell owned with a p? I can't help feeling that this is symptomatic of the decline in modern spenlnig stadnards. Or is is the fact that o and p are next to each other on the keyboard?

This site has some great pics on it. I was so tempted to post the one on the bottom right here... LINK But I'll go to some bizarre hell if I do!

actually with that jaw extension she can't actually be biting THAT hard, studdy your anatomy, the jaw muscles are really quite weak when they are stretched that far...could leave a masssive hicky though.
