What an odd decision. When a guitarist or somebody goes solo for an album, it's usually well-received because it demonstrates the backup talent of the band that doens't always get center stage. When a frontman goes solo, they really need to do something unique and different from their band or else they just end up being a second rate version of their own band, with so much obviously lacking.

Based on the little flash animation, this is what? The Kid A Sessions: Chapter 3: Electric Bugaloo?

With the last Radiohead album being as good as it was, I just can't imagine a lot of Radiohead fans salivating at the prospect of Thom Yorke going solo when he could be recording or performing with the band (especially considering the history of his solo work when contributing to other artists' albums which all sounds a lot like... The Kid A Sessions: Chapter 2: Amnesiac, apologies to DJ Shadow... err, I mean U.N.K.L.E.).

I wonder if Thom is up to the considerable challenge of meeting fans' expectations on his own. I think I'll consult Kazaa before I consult iTunes.

Radiohead is touring now -with a whole new bunch of songs. I guess Mr. Yorke decided to do both..Radiohead and the solo project. I do agree it is a little odd in this case, since Radiohead is very open about Thom being the "boss". To be honest I heard alot of the new songs through live recordings and they were nothing special.
