wow..they are very expressive...look for masterdrawings....(the old masters off course )to up your level even more..there is still a lot to learn ,but thumbs up for the progress..
good stuff. i really like the emotion u seemed to have captured in them although after a while i feel discomforted and moreso like u want to kill me or something=X try to get some variety in your emotions when u do these, feel free to smile=D but yea i really admire the looseness of your work and the variance in mediums/techniques used. i love how the eyes just stare right at you in the 2nd one.
It's great that you're doing so many portraits, but you need to pay more atttention to structure. I suggest that you take a look at the section on heads and features in George Bridgman's Complete Guide To Drawing from Life. Keep drawing!
I like the Emeral Asylum one. Sort of has that mysterious geisha aura going on. I think there's a slight symmetry problem with it, since that little indentation above the middle of your lips (not sure what it's called) indicates that your mouth is placed too much on the left side of your face. Besides the corner of your mouth seems to hang quite low, maybe you're kind of pouty, because I see it in a lot of your self-portraits.
I like your most recent one the best, it's very soft and delicate. But the eye comes off a bit flat. Maybe you could darken the corners or the edges a bit to create a better sense of form. Also your eyebrows are a bit too basic, eyebrows are usually more intricate than you depict here in both form and volume. By volume I mean little things like the hair getting thinner at the edges.
it's great to see you are still posting here and i see a massive improvement, I was looking for the monthly SP thread but i can't see it.
your SPs look far more solid and three dimensional now, and i hope you keep it up and keep improving at the same rate :-)
