I'm really impressed by you dweebs! I didn't think any of you knew what a bezier curve was given the overall intent of this forum. Not a bum job in the lot.

Let the voting begin. I'm guessing that 2 weeks roughly would be long enough for everybody to get a look...

Damn! I had a six-way tie for my vote but had to go for glikster's eggplant. That...is...just...so goddam sick...

Entroid came in half a second behind... After two marriages, cake still gives me nightmares...

    Damn nice entries.
Ended up with a tie between guggen and entroid, ended up with entroid since the overall look is cleaner so the scene reads easier.
Great work everyone! Now Im glad I pussied out.

Mine went to entdroid's. I might be a little biased, but I think the composition, color use and linestyle all fit together nicely. Tight piece, and it features vicious creatures too!
I also loved magicgoo's chihuahua, simple and effective work. As you can see, I can't resist cute critters.

This was such a tough decision!!! But in the end I gave my vote to magicgoo's cute puppy! I love when things are weird AND sweet
Ilaekae's girl was really close to get my vote too, though.

    Great job everyone!
And thanks for all the nice comments!

for me it was a close tie between king coyote and endtroid; had to hand it to KC for the nice story plus blue footed boobie birds.

Had to go with entroid's because I do love shiny shiny stuff!

Guggenmaneuver makes me want to eat more cereal so I can get a fun prize too!

I voted for Entroid. It reminds me of a BlueMountain E-Card that mafia guys send to snitches on their birthdays.

All of you impressed the hell out of me. One day I'll tackle vectors...one day...

    Thanks magicgoo

Like most of you I had some real problems deciding who to vote for. It came down to Red's and Ilaekae's, and in the end I went with Ilaekae. Such a sexy hippie vibe . All of you did amazing work.

I have to say I was astounded by how good the entries were overall. All my poking fun at the "painters" aside, most concept artists really don't use vector much, and so a lot never realize how great a tool it is when used alongside PS and Painter, especially to establish capture areas and structural elements cleanly to transfer. The time savings can be enormous, and the fact that vector was used shouldn't be obvious if done right.

The approaches taken were all hilarious, and really made me happy to see how much thinking actually went into a throw-away competition. As I said...I AM impressed. I especially liked Boogieman's take on the theme...very original.

The most successful of the pieces accented the contrast of cute versus dangerous, a result hard to achieve in any medium, and more so in something as techno as vector art.

A little personal note...My Mary Lou is real, and really looked pretty much the way the drawing does. The chaste red ribbons she's wearing weren't finished. In real life, they were inkle strips (look it up) she made to support herself, but I ran out of time. Her mother was Irish and her father Japanese, and I'm thinking she's around 19-20 here. The most dangerous thing wasn't a joke. She once swallowed a live garter snake head first to gross out a cop (okay...the rattler is a bit much...), and put three of her "suitors" in the hospital after losing her temper for various reasons...smacked one across the face with a 1937 Remington Typewriter--one-handed swing--when he stole her Pentax and sold it for dope. He looked a little lopsided and dazed to the day he died back in the late 80s...

...and, no...I don't know where she is today...thank the goddess...

Wow. I honestly didn't think I'd get such a great response to my piece, I feel really flattered.
Thanks for all the votes and the compliments!

And I agree with you Ilaekae, there were really great entries here, so thanks for putting this together, we should do another sometime!

Btw: glikster, that eggplant reminds me a little of the game Maniac Mansion II: Day of the Tentacle (my favourite game of all times!), it's so hilarious!

Don't worry about me, my little Tesuo Fly...I'm usually the one everybody worries about blowing up the basement...

Besides, she and I got along great. We both liked to blow things up. I don't think we had one rational brain cell between us...

This was a really tough choice, you all just did a killer job!

In the end, (for me) it came down to a choice between Guggenmaneuver and Redehlert...

Joel... That is crazy. I've thunk about it several times over the past nine days, and got a good chuckle every time! I already gave you the full rundown in your SB.

Dave... The sheer clean graphic quality of your pic is what won me over... just beautiful. Like I said earlier, I'd actually considered doing Hooties buddy, but discarded it as a weak idea... Thanks for proving me wrong.

Like I said, they were all beautifully done (except for that kingcoyote guys... He can't even finish his entry? What's that all about?), And I'd love to go up against you all again sometime. Next time I'll finish, AND get it in at least five minutes before deadline! Ha-ha!
