what should i get? (please don't hate me for this)

i'm sorry, i HATE threads like this but i'm really bored and i'm having a hard time making this particular descision.

although i like spending large sums of money it's pretty damn hard to do so when a) you don't have any, and b) whenever you get just a little it goes toward Rent and Bills.

if i were to spend some $300-$400 what should I get?
    1) Wacom Intous 3 with that sassy brush pen
    2) an Ipod
    3) a Bed

--I already have a nice 9x12 Intous 2 which serves me well, but i REALLY want that fancy brush pen
--I may be getting a promotion soon which would require traveling every few months overseas, and my poopy 64meg MP3 player just will not do.
--For almost two years i've been sleeping on a crappy futon that's slowly collapsing under the weight of my freakishly HUGE ass and been doing a nice number on my lower back.

having a good nite's rest would be good once in a while. so would having access to my enourmous MP3 collection when i'm on the go (especcially since i've been on the go a lot lately). and having the Intous 3 and brush pen would be pretty rad too (and i could rite it off as a business expense)

sorry for bugging you with this tripe, but like i said, i'm WAY bored at work and i can't deside

    I'd say, in order:

    Intuos 3
    Bed
    .
    .
    .
    .
    Ipod

but then I hate Ipods, so...

    Make a poll!

I would say a bed. For years I slept on a futon, too. It was awful. Then one night, it just bent in half! Scared the crap out of me as I collapsed into a valley! I almost had a heart attack.

You can make art without a new Intuos. It will suck if you are sleep deprived for too long. Get a good bed man.

My ipod's actually something I didnt think I'd use as much as I do... I listen to audiobooks a lot while working and it's awesome for that. I also wrote it off on my taxes

although it's amazing how much better the world becomes when you're not sleep deprived..

    Fuck all that shit..
let's go out in the city and blow your hard earned cash on coke and snort it off cheap $50 hookers.

Seriously...buy one of those crappy egg/crate/foam things and put it under your poor excuse for a bed. It won't make anything better, but perhaps the psychological effects will help. Then go and buy yourself some good art materials and get some pieces done. Or save that money and put it towards that book of watercolors you wanted to publish.

Do you like I refused to pick any of the 3 items you mentioned?
    I'm such a dick

whats so special about the Brush pen? Is it an actualy brush?! An intuous 2 has the same pressure sensitivities as a 3.

and what kinda promotion is this that has you going back and forth?

You only need 50 bucks to buy a cheap used bed. Watch out for bugs

1- You already have a good sized Wacom tablet with similar, if not the same pressure sensivilities, remmember that most people have to settle with a graphire, or a smaller Intuos.....personally i dont see the need of changing your tablet just for the pen, at least not yet.

2- A bed, please, your spine will thank you. Also, back problems and drawing/painting don´t mix well.

3- Ipod...........not a "nessesary" tool, not even a tool, but Ipods are as nessesary as a Big mac and 2 litters of Cola for lunch, you know, if you really don´t want to live past 50, at least not with your original teeths.

Buy a bed, not to fancy, but practical. As for your trip, buy yourself 2 or 3 books.

    Good luck

get the one that is the best investment for you, which ever one of those will bring in the most profit in return.

Maybe you have a shit bed and buying a new one will give you 2+ hours of quality sleep which will pay back in better quality work time.

Maybe a better tablet will give you some extra work enjoyment and give place for new possibilities in improving your techniques, hence more and better work

Though I can't find any good reasons to buy an ipod besides being a neat thing to have.

    My 2 cents :-)

either go with the bed or the wacom, dont go with the iPod. Without going into a huge anticonsumerism rant, you can easily get a portable media device that functions just as well, if not better, than an iPod, at a fraction of the price.

arkady get the new wacom and give the old one to me, I'll uh... love you forever?
And don't get an ipod, they are over priced pieces of shit, get a Cowon iAudio instead
As for the bed just get another futon, I sleep on 3 here at home and I tell you it's heaven on earth.

Actually I agree with scott, be a pal and buy us some hookers and lots of drugs.

it's funny, after i wrote it all out the bed made the most sence.
I've recently stopped using the wacom for art (mainly cause traditional is more fun and takes less time - and i have soo much porn and music on my comPOOter that it can't run photoshop anyways). and i still have one of those arcane laser things that reads shiny spherical things with music on them and reusable batteries. and i went home last weekend and slept in a real bed and that was pretty damn cool.

If you do get an iPod, first of all: you're crazy. Especially if what you really need is a bed. But, if you do, ignore the haters and the newer iPods, alike. Go for a 3G model (the one with the buttons separate from the clickwheel). It is seriously the best model they've ever made.

It functions just as well if all you need is a harddrive (up to 40GB) and a good music player, and goes for under $200 second-hand. You might want to replace its battery, but that'll only run you about $20. That's if you decide to get one, but you should really have your own bed, man.

Go for the bed definitely, you got everything else taken care of sufficently.
Can you just buy the fancy brushpen without the intuos?
Personally I think the music situation is secondary to sleep/back and supplies. And yeah, ipods arent quite the bang for your buck, could probably do better with a different player.

B, who wants an mp3 player anyways, music on the move is for teenagers and kids showing off not for adults
