    Hi!! What kind of brush should I use for human skin?

    Hi I'm a new one in the world of photoshop but I already have big problems with getting a good result when I try to "paint" human skin... I mean I don't know what kind of brush to use to get a decent effect without using such tool as blur and all... Something which would look more like a painting but with photoshop... I still have the old 7 version though...
    Thanks for your attention toward my ignorance...

    Skin has texture, so I prefer a charcoal/pastel effect.

    You can make skin with the plain normal round brush. Or the soft one. The brush doesn't matter NEARLY as much as the color or texture you use.

    If you are asking how to make really nice looking rendered skin without using blur or smudge;
    You just lower the opacity, use a soft brush, and build up the colors/values.

    This is such a funny question. I love how people think that all the answers are there in the program, if only they knew where to look. No one learning traditional painting would ever ask "what kind of brush should I use for human skin?" It's not the brush, it's the marks that you make with it. Sure, some textures or effects may be more appropriate in certain circumstances, but what make skin look like skin is value, color, and edges.

    Hehe, great answer Elwell - I'm think I'll have that on hand and paste it in every now and then.
