really nice hatching, your ballpoint stuff is pretty impressive. You've definitely got a good idea of how form works, but as has been stated before it'd be nice to see some studies.

either way keep up what you're doing. it works!

I've recently re-re-re discovered how much I love working in pen. I'll try and scan in some light-style drawings if I get around to making some.

Cool, I love the simplified shading you do with a pencil in the first few drawings, it sets the focus nicely. - Great progress on the more complex shading in the later pages. ;] Keep it up!

The good things about your sketchbook are: nice hatching, crazy designs, fun faces, cute girls. I'd like to see some pieces pushed a little more though... Not just loose sketches.. or hatched sketches... But fully rendered, finished pieces with a composition and all.

    seriously man
    to be 16.

    youre pretty damn amazing.

    no jokes.
you were way way better than me at 16.
you may be better than me now =\

youve got an interesting amount of potential for your age.

    im wondering
when you got serious about art. how did you practice.
or what did you do for practice.
i might try a few of your exercises

    fjooner - Thanks man.
serpian - I think thanks to art class I will have a few of those finished drawings pretty soon.
loaded- thanks man, for the most part what you see is what you get as far as studies go, I leave out a few pages from the updates every once in a while but its along the same lines as the ones i post.
A few more, a portrait from ref, gonna have some real stuff soon enough methinks.

Nice anotomy going on, I can really see this work going places, have you ever tried darkening over the hatch mark again after the intial layer? They seem to work with one hatch layer but still appear very atmospheric and flat...

Great style, it's so natural and raw. Your crosshatching is incredible, and really is improving. And so the anatomy isn't exactly bang on, your style is what keeps us coming back.

    Hope to see more!

I love the circly hatching style you did on the sword an update or two ago, try pushing that some more.
