I don't do too many concepts, but I would love to be a concept artist.. Just seeing if I have what it takes as this is one of the few I have attempted.
crits welcome only if they make my head fat. LOL just kidding tear me a new one.
MIKECORRIERO, Thanks I agree with everything you are saying 100% it's neat how you don't see these things until someone shows you.
In the mean time, I put that one down for a bit and threw together this one for the shear purpose of practicing texture (feathers) in a quick manner. I learned a lot about it. I used an overlay filter on a different layer. this might be a bit saturated but its not done I am still messing with it.
Edit again... could use feedback on this
it's apparently called a "DODAC" some military thing my friend saw while he was on post and made it into a "half bald-eagle/half Dodo bird" that "is vicious and could eat a small child". I don't know where he gets this stuff.
anyway. It's good practice for me when he explains very loosly what he wants, that way it's kinda like an industry realistic job as far as concept art goes (so I think). I have ambitions to get into the industry soon

It's nice. It needs a little more than horns though, as it resembles a gerbil too much without them. Good start though.
I agree with ZeTsU. Great start!
Aaah! FEAR TEH CUTENESS!!!
That is adorable. Can I have one please?
Well rendered, I like the textures at the base of the horns. The horn on the right though does not seem to sit correctly in relation with the other, and looks twisted. Thats the only thing that stands out to me. great work .
We'll ride the spiral to the end, we may just go where no one's been
I was going for something a bit like a herbivore - pretty much harmless creature, the funny thing is, it DOES look like a prehistoric guinnea pig... I didn't intend for that to happen, however I DID intend for it to have the same type of manorisms as a guinea pig... coincodentally.
thanks for the great feedback I agree with all of the constructive crits. you guys rock. I am going to get right on the fixes and post them.
cool guinea pig
