well, I couldn't stay away from the Sb for long^^. I thought I'd try a new style, allowing perhaps for more of what I want to learn in terms of values and shadows. I tried to make it more realisitc, and was massively inspired by Marco. Went thorough his Degensesisbook as well as his he-man redesignthread. Man marco's the shit!!

Nice work here! I like your style and pencil work. Your Hogarth ref on the first page is magic!

    Ya mind if I stalk?

Thx Saikin! Yeah, those hogarth references are great, I ought to do more of those. Mostly I simply think of form and anatomy theoretically, but taking a more practical approach is definely greatly beneficial!

New pic, massively isnpired/partly ref. from a girl in Marco's Degenesis book. Marco is king. I hope someday I'll become as good as he is!

Like uhh... coolness i like your cartoon style it reminds me of the star wars cartoon series that use to be on cartoon network, your hogarth is perfect but nothing beats your faces. The only problem i see with this thread is that you need to post more, and then, and then, AND THEN more. (im not crazy i just like that part from dude wheres my car.) Well you keep posting and i'll keep coming back.

Warground; Thx mate! Motion is what I've been preacticing a lot as of late!

Saikin; yeah, you know, couldnät dissapoint ya with less tahn 10 minutes beteween updates^^. Right now, I think I'm focusing more on traditional than digital. I'll wait with the digital till I become good enough!

Ermack; That's very encouraging! Thank you mate! I also dig the starwars cartoon ^^. I'll try keep the posting up!

Boom; Thax man, glad I could help ya, if you need to know anything, although I am almost a beginner at digital myself, feel free to drop me a pm.

A couple of more faces, I've begun my exploration of values. Also been trying out a more realistic and gritty style. Hope ya'll like it!

Whoa, I like how you changed gears -- the stuff at the beginning has this really fun Saturday morning feel and then the last few are more gritty. I like that you can still see distinctive elements of your style in both drawings. Good job!

I think one thing you really need to do is draw from life. You seem to have no problem copying Marko's stuff as reference, but every artist has some underlying flaws- not to mention, you look at a nose through his eyes, not yours. You need to draw things from life through your own eyes to get a real grasp of how they work, though there isn't anything totally wrong with using other artist's as ref. You just can't rely solely on them.

Hendrick; thx man, I'm extremily torn between styles at the moment.

Pixeldragoon; Extremily true mate! I'm actually starting a lifedrawing class in a couple of weeks. I'm really looking forward to it. I think trying to copy soemone elses style is a symptom of insecurity in your own work, and that is something I really have. I'll just keep working^^. Thx for your comment, very thoughtprovoking!

Thank you very much saikin! I dropped a reply in your SB . Anyways, I'm in love with these new coloured leads for my pencil. I also switched my 0.5 for a 0.7 from rotring. It ownz! I really like this renderingtechnique. This guy has a big mace...

Thank you Rose! The reason as to why I don't do full scenes yet is because I feel I have soooo much to learn in regards of characters. But I'll make sure to keep it in mind^^

Here are some more studies from my head.

Coen; Thank you very much mate! I've been waiting for a reply for some time now^^. Anyways, I pretty much always work on A4-sized paper. I fin that working too big makes me lose focus on many important things, and instead starts focusing on details! A common mistake, for me and many others is focusing on details too soon. Same with bodystudies. A-4 paper. I've started using coloured Leads, I prefer red, but they're out of them at the store! After I've created a loose sketch with those, I fill in the lines I want to keep with my Rotring 0.7 mechanical penci lwith B leads.

Figure of frgt10; Thank you mate, I'll keep working on it^^. Sometimes it feels so hopeless though, like there's so much to learn, and taht I feel so poor in comparison to so many great artists on this forum. But I guess persistence is the key.

    No pain, no gain.

Hey Thank you Theo! Checked out your stuff, looking awesome! Sorry fo the late reply, I've been very buzy feeling sory for myself and being discontetnt with my "skills" as of late. Anyways, we've started a sketchgroup at school nd naturally we've made some drawings. We've settled upon a theme each time (except for the first), and here are my pieces. Hopefully I'll increase the quality of my images pretty soon as I'm beginning my first life drawing class this Thursday! Cya!
