Just reminding everyone that we have a wiki set up for conceptart.org
a link to it is on every page next to the "user cp".
I've been trying to add as much content as i can to help the community, but help is appericated.
If you cant figure out how to help, just tell me what type of links you want on it and i will go digging for them.
Direct link: http://www.conceptart.org/wiki/doku.php
we dont have it set up current to use the same user/password database that the forums/community site are using so you will have to REGISTER seperately for the wiki.
Registered and editing, sir!
Already had a quick glance through the existing links and info, added one useful thing and done some spellchecking so far, hopefully I can contribute more when I have some free time (damn university coursework )
The reference section alone is worth going in to check out. I'm sure once more people realise the power and quality of the CA wiki, they'll be all over it like starving bears on a beehive planet. Good work!

My god! The links and tutorials are unreal! Thanks Davi! I'll try add anything if i can. Erm, for textures, I go to www.mayang.com/textures if that helps? You prob already have it in there.
EDIT: yeah, you did have mayang. Ok I added a composition tutorial by Philip Straub from CGTalk. I found it pretty helpful

yea it's been a very long time since I've looked at it (always just forgot about it really) didn't realize there was so much goodness in there though! I'm gonna be looking at it alot more often from now on thanks for the reminder that it's there!
I plan on murdering every art link resource on the internet with it.
Hello, I have a question, will appreciate the answer.
Were any images attached to these tutorials. I love the information, but for example in color theory section the artist fredflickstone mentions color wheel and value wheel and explains the adding white and black with purpose to play with intensity directly using some colors from those wheels. But I can only try to imagine what's going on without images. Thank you for the answers.
I've been wanting to do that for a long time but I started a Art vs Business part in the links page and I'm planning on posting links to artist guilds as I get time (feel free to post some more business related links!)
There's a project section if you need to better organise yourselves instead of letting things get lost in 20 page threads. =)
hehe, i kind of forgot the wiki.. Last time i checked it it had like 3 tutorials and a few links..
Looong time ago in other words..
Looks very nice!
Not deleted, mysteriously disappeared.
That's what happens when the guys out back use backups.
I apologise for when it does happen, but it is beyond my control unfortunately.

Just added another section to the links page, this time of art instruction links. These are a bit of a mixed bag on the often interlinked topics of drawing, painting and design. Probably not as comprehensive as my art history and anatomy contributions, but thought it best to get them up now that the wiki is getting some attention, so that people can start adding all the great links I've missed.
Coming soon: a big page of lighting and colour links, plus the remainder of Art History.
Since there's nothing in the ancient weapons category, you may consider adding this http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/default.aspx to it. It also has some nice sets of armour.
EDIT: actually I visited the site after a long time away from it... it's got everything. Historical clothing weapons armor, jewlery and tons of movie props from LOTR, kingdom of heaven etc...

Been thinking about writing a list with book reviews for the wiki. Might be very useful, we get questions about books regularly here. But since i don't have access to a computer at home atm. i can't do a lot right now. Maybe someone wants to write about some books as well. I plan to cover Bridgman, Hale, Vanderpoel, Hultgren (animal drawing), animators survival guide, Harold Speed. Maybe some others i forgot about now.
So like, im hardly an authority on any subject but its kinda sparse, you dudes want me to add what i know? I mean people who know more then me can always edit my stuff.
Also we could go about editing the tutorials and copying em into the wiki to make sure they are all nice and formatted and stuff, that might be really useful. Im sure we could get peoples permission. And once i figure out how i would gladly start on it.
This is great! You should promote it more! Make it a anouncment or something.
I am not much of help because I am just strating out and don't even fully understand perspective so..
Woo, this is a great resource! Thanks for putting it up!
