    Webhost question

Hey guys. I've been researching webhosts little by little. So far I've been considering www.1and1.com since they seem to have a pretty decent reputation. Any suggestions for hosts? I don't need a whole lot of bandwidth since I'm not a freelancing professional or very well known yet. I just need something that I can upload my pictures onto to showcase my work. I've also been considering possibly outsourcing to a web designer to help me out with the layout and design so it doesn't look like a cheap geocities website or something generic.

Well, any help will be highly highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    -Scott

I use Dreamhost and I'm always happy with them. I pay $9.95 a month, and I currently have about 24GB of disk space, and a little more than a terabyte of bandwidth (as a member they add 160MB of space and 8GB of bandwidth every week to my account). Also that includes a domain name and a bunch of other features like your own forum, gallery, and blog.

But 1and1 seems fine, but I don't know of anyone who hosts with them.

I'm with Bluehost, who so far are very good, but after looking at that Hosting Chart site and checking out IX Web Hosting, I'd probably have gone with them if I'd known about them when I signed up.

I went with fourbucks.net, found the link off Feng Zhu's website. If it fills his needs it's gotten be good enough for me. If webdesign isn't your thing, I use to do it professionally but I hate how tedious it is to update it. If website design isn't your thing, you can use PhotoShop CS or CS2 to create a photogallery site pretty easily. It won't be totally unique but if this is to show your stuff then most people won't care.

    Good luck!

Well, being the admin of an exclusive (free) hosting company...

    I'll have to reccommend bluedoorhouse.

    http://bluedoorhouse.org

Check it out, its a pretty good hosting package.

    Thanks,
