Man why do people have to be so fucking hatefull. "Bob Ross Must die"? WTF in the world did Bob Ross do in order for you to say something like that. You may not like his artwork, or the way he looked, or spoke but one things for sure, the man lived his life and made a living doing what he loved and he shared that with millions of people. He was able to inspire many people to paint when they didnt think they had the talent to do so. Respect more, bitch less.
Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd

Well said Vigostar. Why be so hateful towards him. That kind kind of treatment should be reserved for the bad people in the world. Leave him alone.

i remember seeing him on tv, painting the same kind of paintings he always does.
doesn't he ever get more creative than that? instead of just drawing the ol' american landscape, he could have done something more imaginative...it's boring enough to see a painting of the same wildlife (with a shabby old cabin) landscape you've always seen...

but i'll admit some of his techniques are useful, but...man starting his own series of art products with his name on it..ehh..

how about christopher hart? that dude keeps publishing retarded books about drawing cartoons. He even published several "how to draw manga" books...he's not the only one. many other authors are writing up books that "teach" you how to draw manga. Besides drawing "manga" doesn't help you grow better as an artist.

muffin- his show was about teaching a technique therefore creating alot of the same landscapes over and over again. Some people may say.. "Why doesnt muffinman draw anything other the monsters" Whether your monsters all look different they are still monsters... And believe me... if you could make some money by slapping your name on a product you would do so...

Exactly. All he did was find a way of making money from his art and in doing so helped and inspired lots of people to paint who may never have considered it before.

I got nothin but love for Bob Ross- your white kid suburban angst is pretty unoriginal too man, so don't dog on a guy who was sharing what he liked to do. I'd much rather see someone painting on tv than yet another talkshow hosted by Tyra Banks.

Ive watched many of his shows, and each landscape was pretty different. Also Bob was a landscape artist, hence the constant painting of landscapes. He wasnt a concept artist, or an industrial designer or a comic book artist. He had no need to do anything else but landscapes. He used the same priciples and had the same skills as some of our very own artists who draw enviroments from time to time. Bob was a skilled at what he did, and he did it well. Not only that but he chose to share his ideas and techniques with people as mentioned above. In short Bob Ross is teh pwnzor.

PBS still shows his show saturday mornings...for 25 minutes or so, he does some damn nice landscapes. The site looks legite, it is bobross.com after all, but who wants a bob ross video game when we already have Mario Paint for the snes. If there really is gonna be a painting game for the DS, I might give it a try

what i've always wanted to know is, when bob ross paints, on tv, is that live or cut and edited for time?

i can't remember much of it, and the last time i saw it was the age i was watching Sesame street and stuff too.

i remember he had his shit down tight. i mean, he was damn near a machine.

i wonder if they'll find a hidden vault of bob ross's... dark... paintings.
