wow, last update is wonderful. the skull is well rendered, the planes on it are clear. you understand the structure well. acturally i always have something vague of the structure, i'll go get a mold so i can draw it from 3d in various angles. keep up the good ones Ulver.

Those studies look great mate. The bottom jaws in some are looking a tad long - dunno. But every time I get here I'm more impressed, seriously. Keep up the good hard work and you'll go great places!

    thanx for the support!

Bartovan - thank you for visit! I`ll try to keep it methodical, think it`s the only way to learn something

Was not sure of posting this, but it`s the first drawing of a man from life here so I post this crap My brother was too sleepy and agreed to sit still only for 10 minutes, and I didn`t have a time to draw his hands and legs So I did a quick 10 min sketch and later rendered it a little. Think I`ll leave it unfinished.

    hi, iam here again .

Glad you posted your brother. it's just a nice sketch. just see it like a learning prosses. you made a sketch. and you renderd it later. to let it even look beter!. it's not easy to draw someone from live. it's a good attempt, if he just had sitten some time longer it even looked better. so it's a nice 10 min sketch .

and btw. > i really like that photo ref!

Meatsworthy - Thank you for stopping by again!

Today`s for drawings from life. First - quick sketches of my cast. I tried to work fast as I can. Second - portrait of my bro:

wow, more skulls, sure make me very happy. And oh, I see you've put the skull structure into portraits now which makes the head very believable. Nice one. Although the pose is a bit stiff. Maybe try varying angles? Keep up the good works bro.

the referenced stuff looks excellent (esp the athletics/anatomy ones, those are wicked)
u have a pretty good style forming in the no-ref area, a bit on the cartoony style
dont be afraid to let it loose more

Thank you very much for all replies!
oma- Glad that you like it, man! Answering your question - all pages are A4 format. It`s easy to scan, and not so many place to render
isair - Thanx!! Yes, I`m trying to use that structure Glad that you think it makes these drawings look better!
Olle Werme - Thank you! Yes, that skulls are from life Life drawings are still a very tricky thing for me to do, but anyway it`s fun. Thanx for stopping by again!
Cigaro - Thank you for kind words! I`ll try to do more stuff the way you suggest, anyway I try to achieve more realism in my drawings. Always appreciated!

So, here`s two more pages of skullllsss from life and one photoref portrait
    Fooling around with a contrast

Your work from reference is very strong, the studies look good too.
I'd love to see some faces with stronger expressions though (bigger smiles, laughing, mad...).
    Keep it up!

Wow, nice, very good shading and I love your refs, work on the women's faces a bit more, sometimes your lips are overwhelming the rest of the face or don't look exactly in place...at least I think that's it! Haha!

Your copies are pretty accurate. You must have some talent!

But really, you need to stop drawing pictures of naked people. Everyone is deeply offended by those images, I'm sure.

Keep it up Ulver, the quick cast drawings of your skull are cool. Try and do a different view of your brother when he's not paying attention .

Oh, been meaning to ask, your avatar... is that the guy in the 13th warrior?

Goodbye > The studies don't stop at removing clothes, but flesh as well in order to build an understanding of the human form. It's just part of the learning process, no offense is intended.

Wow, so many comments thanx guys!!!
oma - glad that you like it! Thanks for crits about photoref, you right about pop eye, so I just removed some tones and now it looks much better!
entroid - thanx for dropping by! I`ll post some faces with the expressions soon. Firstly I need to deal with facial muscles, and later work with the expressions will be easier. However expressions will come soon
n1va - Thank you! You right, I need to work more on it. Women`s faces are much more difficult to draw than men`s, hope I can do it better someday.
rblitz7 - Thanx, man! I like this one too
Saikin - Hehe I didn`t want to make him look deranged, but afraid that you right about it Anyway now eyes are fixed and he`s looking not so deranged
Goodbye - Thanx for kind words, man! I don`t know about talent, but think that only hard work on drawings can help to become better. About your suggestion not to draw human body - please read Meatsworthy post - I totally agree with him. I respect your opinion but have to say that I`ll continue to do these studies because this is what I`m here for.
Meatsworthy - Thank you very much! Ok, I`ll try to hunt my brother and post the results About avatar - haha, you right, this is that guy exactly

    Update:
First and second pics are from life. I still fight with a hatching and shadows
3rd pic - studies of facial muscles - preparing for work with the expressions.
4th and 5th are photorefs. The last one is dirty a little and I`m not satisfied with it, but I post it here for you to crit:

Awesome update. I love that forth pic Ulver, really tight rendering. Nice depth in the first as well. Keep up the life drawings .

As for crits: The ear on the second pic - although I can tell you didn't intend to push any details there (and you don't have too) - looks really flat, not the same depth as the rest of the head. I also think you could give some more thickness to the eyelids, they seem a little bit thin. The hand in the last one looks a bit wierd as well but I can't really tell what's wrong, I suck at hands, sorry xD.

    Keep rocking!

Damn I missed a lot here. The Prof. looks great. The skull form is solid. Damn the shading is awesome. Contrast makes things really good. But the last girl is way to skully to me.

Thank you very much for feedback, guys!!!

Olle - I agree about ear, but my mold has only "something looks like an ear" and not an ear actually - so it`s difficult to draw it right, but I`ll try The hand in the last one is terrible, I know that - I don`t like this drawing at all, but I spend too much time on it and decided to post this shit just for motivating myself to draw better
oma - sorry man, but I havn`t much time to draw now, hope it will change soon. I like that pic a lot too , thanx
isair - the last girl is too Ugly for me too!! I have to practice more on women`s faces, thought. Glad, that you like the shading!

just one pic for today - studying MUSCLES ref:
