Hey there everyone
I keep hearing allot of people talking about a Brush Editor in Paint when they're refering to choosing the right brushes or even making their own.
My question is a simple one really [please remember however I am a total noob with this though ]
Were is this Brush Editor at? lol
I dont see any Brush editor options within Painter essentials 3.
All I see is a selection of Brushes and varying categories, and in my palettes I see....
Tool box, Property Bar, Brush Selector Bar, Colours, Layers, Under-painting, Auro-painting, Restoration, Quick Guide.
So what am I missing lol? were is the Brush Editor in all that?
Sorry for being a COMPLETE noob in this, but everybody gotta start somewheres right?
Thanks for all the help/advice
Does the brush editor only come with Painter IX or Painter 6,7,etc and not essentials?
Painter Essentials is built as a simplified version on Painter with a more focused workflow.
Many of the customization features are not present in Essentials that exist in the full Painter IX package.
Neither the Brush Creator...
or the Brush Controls Palettes...
Are available within Painter Essentials....
Both of these areas allow you to either create completely new, or customize existing brushes to achieve whatever style of brush you would like.
Hope this helps

Yeah I figured which is why I just got IX.5
It was worth it for the extra utilities
Does anyone know whether this editor is available in Painter 9 education edition?
As I understand it, the Academic version of Painter IX is the same program we get when buying the boxed version except:
You are not allowed to use it for commercial work.
It doesn't come with the Painter IX Handbook.
No one gets the hard copy Painter IX User Guide but both the Painter IX User Guide and Painter IX Handbook can be purchased from Corel separately.
You should have the User Guide in HTML format accessible from within Painter IX via Help > Help Topics.
You should have three places where you can adjust brush controls:
The Property Bar (limited number of controls that change with each Tool selected from the Tools palette and with each brush variant selected)
Brush Controls palettes (open on the Painter screen either as a docked group or individually, depending on how the artist has them set up - contain all of the brush controls available on the Stroke Designer tab of the Brush Creator)
Brush Creator (opens in a different screen, separated from the normal Painter screen and from the art being worked on).
