Wow! That's great great grrrreat stuff!
I really like the life drawings, they're very good!

vigostar-Haha...thanks man. This thread is still pretty new, so that's likely why you've never run across it before... I just draw a lot

    camilografix, Alen-More on the way

    NoŽ, jereus-Thankyou so much!

cateaic-Contour and silhouette are such critical elements to making a strong drawing. Something to always be shooting for.

All-Thanks everybody! Hearing that others are enjoying my work motivates me even more!

    Little update...

Man, this thread is awesome, bro. How long have you been at this drawing gig? Such fluid movement in here. How do you build such confidence in your lines? Man, I'm eatin' this up. My only complaint really falls into the color/render department, especially in the Photoshop paints. Keep bringin' the pain tho, man! I'm lovin' it!

thegreypencil-Glad to hear it! "True power lies in the imagination", that's my mantra. I like my drawings to show me places and people (and creatures) I've only seen in my mind. I believe the true measure that tells you if you are a good artist or not is when you are able to draw something exactly the way you feel about it. Your response is encouraging!

TheGnoll-Thanks man! The model of Zeno is finished. Took a while, since I did all the rigging and all that stuff. It's been a pretty drawn out process, as I prefer a pencil to a keyboard, but I'll post him on here in the next couple of weeks, once I get the texture painted. Maybe I can get the hair and fur modifer to make him look really sweet, we'll see...
As for the Captian, he's not from a book, though I was shooting for a storybook style illustration feel when I did that. I have been thinking about working on a book/story actually...

Zebzfree-To address your last comment first: yeah, those paintings are not the best, I was really just messing aroud without any real plan, so that's what happens Thanks for calling that out though. I'm really trying to find an approach to coloring that suits me, so bear with me... If you know of some good places for coloring/painting advice, please let me know.
And about confidence in lines. I was fed up with doing ugly, scratchy drawings, like many artists who are just starting out, so I just forced myself to draw fast and make my marks fall where I wanted them to. Practice, practice, practice! I would say I have developed a very specific goal of how I want my lines to look, and I will likely always be working toward that goal (since it will just keep changing anyway).

As for how long I've been at this...well, I guess I've been drawing for about 2 years now. Got a long way to go.

Back again. Really wish I had more time to draw... soon though, soon...

Zaknafain-Thanks. I figure why draw something if you aren't going to make it interesting. I love drawing people.

    DerMidlet-

tensai-Thanks for stopping in again. About those color roughs, I'm not really that pleased with them, the colors are too dead looking, I just painted over a grey value block in... don't like the way it looks that much.

    Here's another small SB update.

    thegreypencil-

    Smitherines-Thanks for dropping by again.

I made a physical model based on the Weasel Captain character. The proportions are a bit different, as are some of the details, but the overall effect is still pretty good. This was my first attempt at a character sculpture. Pretty fun

    Back for more.

    Joshawowo, _^SlayeR^_-Yeah. Rock On!

Despite these most recent posts, this thread is not going to be turning into a 3D and sculpting forum...
Here is the pretty much finished model of Zeno, from the model sheets on the previous page. Like the weasel sculpture, this is the first character in 3D I have ever modeled, rigged or textured, so it was more of a learning experience then anything. I am looking forward to making another character, and what I learned from this one should be very helpful. I don't know why I effectively made a furry though...

Excellent works! They are very talented, and varied. There's both character designs, architecture pieces, comic style character and realistic anatomy studies, plus environmental works. That's what I call talent!

John! Yuour stuff is dope as usual

The figure of the weasel? nailed it you did, but Id like to see some closeups if possible?

Zeno's well sculpted but I think the blockiness in the joints takes away the movement in the pose. Could do with a little tweaking but I cant say much more

Liek em alien flora, very JohnT.

    Keep at it!

Well, let's get this party started... been really busy lately... but time to get some serious drawing in every day. Everyone please let me know what you think.

Jane M- Thanks. I'm gonna try to mix it up even more in the coming months though... gotta draw EVERYTHING

    Theo- More environments coming...

thegreypencil- I tried to take some close up pictures, but they all came out really blurry...and with Zeno, I don't think I'll be going back to that model, I'd rather just make another one. (Actually, I think I'll just draw)

A little something to get this summer going

WoW. Where has this thread been hiding? Awsome stuff. I'm a big fan of line art also. You use the different line weights very nicely. A lot better than me. I need to work on that more.

Thanks for sharing all this amazing stuff. I'll be watching for more and trying to learn something from your work.
