damn John your shooting on all cylinders, I don't know what to say, your environments are smoking, Lots of good yummy textures. Your character designs are getting so much stronger also. Wow such a treat to stop in here, thanks for the inspiration.

Hey John, dropping by (as i usually do)- must say that the envo.s keep getting better and better. I really like the looser looking ones, great colors and brush usage. This one from the recent update is my fave so far, as well as that blue lagoon one you did farther up.

Love the looseness! The pencil and character work looks great too, only gripe is that they are sometimes a little bit stiff lookin. :0 Keep up the great stuff as usual!

I really admire your ability to finish stuff, that is an excellent skill to have.

You really need to work on your faces though, I know that sounds a bit general, and that basically everyone needs to work on drawing faces... but I think that is the area where you are most lacking right now, your proportions and anatomy on the body is fine, your clothing designs etc. are excellent and yeah, your ability to finish stuff is top notch. but your faces arent quite there yet... They arent bad by any means though, but If I where you I would focus on drawing heads for a while. Master studies are a great idea, looking at photos and comparing them to your drawing helps alot too.

I think one of the main problems with your faces might be the placement of the eyes, they usualy seem like they are placed too high I think, not too sure though.

anyway, keep up the great work, cheers!!

Darktwin-Hey always nice to get some encouragement.

Lukias-Hey wow thanks, you made my day. I've got major respect for your skills man, I don't feel worthy...

    dhilipsomesh-Of course.

Sirio_Brozzi-Yeah, sometimes I fall off that fine wire between good rendering and loose and alive looking. I was almost not even gonna post that painting you said you liked because I thought it was so crappy... hmm

archipelago-Hey I really appreciate your honest input. It's funny, because occasionally I've thought the same thing about the eye placement/face length, but then just ignored it. I'm glad to have someone else point it out, so now I'll remember hopefully. I will definitely be hitting some face and proportion studies, I've been getting fed up with the sameness of the faces I draw anyway. You really hit on a good issue with that, thanks.

Older sketch page and a couple paints.
