    D & D for Dummies TV commercial

I thought the Westwood College "tighten up the graphics" commercial was flawed, but this one takes the cake. If there's an Emmy award for WTF commercials this should be in the top ten.

Uh, yeah... I think that was marketing towards children. I don't think kids care much about the art in the commercial... but you can't even PLAY D&D with just TWO people!

I wonder what kind of human being buys a book with the "for dummies" subtitle......

I mean it really isnt something that you would proudly display in your bookcase......but is more likelly that a person with that kind of books doesn't really have anything similar to a book case anyways.

    About the commercial.........WTF!!!

I know what that couple should be doing to strengthen their relationship... hardcore interracial porno fucking, for dummies!

I actually have a "for dummies" book, I bought it before I got my cat. "Cats for dummies". Very informative, but I still felt my ego was slighted that my own book was calling me a dummy.

You can't play D&D with two people?!?!

WHY AM I THE LAST PERSON TO FIND OUT ABOUT THESE THINGS?!?!

Dammit, to think I wasted entire summers leveling up characters in Jeff's dungeon. If I had known you couldn't do that, I probably would have done more drugs.

By the way, which page is that rule on in the DM's Guide?

it seem like the add was more intrested in the interracial message then the game. otherwise they whoud just have two normal looking dudes with skateboards or something explaining stuff. really wierd add. i mean those guys dont play that game.
looked like a sect video or something.

in first edition, you can actually make do with just one person. there's rules in the back for playing D&D solo adventures. I'd imagine it's alot like playing an early computer RPG

    D&D has always been about the interracial love, I mean come on. . . half-elves, half-orcs, half-dragons - it's all good.

    *sigh*

I really must insist that it's hard to play (find amusement with) Adavanced Dungeons & Dragons (Second Edition Rules) unless I have a party (group of two or more people, not including the Dungeon Master) and an original campaign, designed and tailored by the Dungeon Master.

A character sketch or symbol is a must as well.
I managed to gain extra points for that on multiple occasions. 8)

I've done the basic D&D campaign, ages ago, and you really should have one person read the cards for the character learning the rules to go thru the campaign, but it really isn't PLAYING the game. That's learning the rules. I was stressing the point that they were saying they were PLAYING D&D... and having fun! They seem WAY too enthused about playing a two player game. If we couldn't get three or more people together, we would not play and saw no reason to create or continue a campaign. Since they simplified everything to a 20 sided dice system, last I knew, I'm not sure a group of people would be all that great, since you have to buy a whole new set of books that cost a pretty penny... for each person.

Are they seriously trying to tell me that guy couldn't find anything fun and interesting to do with that chick? I'm pretty sure I could.

I couldn't even watch that 2nd one for more than 4 mins... it's things like that that give us nromal role players a bad reputation *sighs*....

Oh and you can play D&D and just about any other RPG with onyl one charachter but it's not much fun.. you might aswell just read a book then or sit infront of your computer...

    and for that commercial.. WTF?!
