    have a nice april 1st!

man, when i first opened the forum today, the scientology ad scared the crap out of me... the celebrity-section is really creepy! didn't realize it was april 1st quite some minutes... but then i thought what if nature knew aprils fools? so my quick sketches became quite weird. just a little fun in between...
tried to loosen up my style a little and not going so dark too early. creates some new problems scanning the drawings, but anyway:

    wow
    ...sucks to be an octoflea^^

a loose and sketchy style is very Ok
cause it´s good to be able to bring movement and comlpete figures on the paper fast
but never lose the will to create more "finished" pieces

otherwise you could get stuck on speeddrawing

haha, yeah i wouldn't want to be such a creature. imagine how it looks when he actually jumps. damn, i have to become so much better to not only imagine stuff but actually be able to draw it...

thanks for the advice with the speeddrawing, i guess i was so concentrated on drawing faster that i'm going for another extreme... will work on more finished stuff soon...

okay, some small and quick sketches. i've been working on another one but then i had to wait in an abandoned apartment for 45 minutes. after 30 minutes of looking out of the window i got bored. i only had a small pad and a blue ballpen with me and there was nothing in the apartment. but they had a mirror in the bathroom, so i drew some expressions and a looking-not-so-serious self portrait... sorry for the bad quality, but i couldn't scan them but had to take photos...

    left to to right:
happy camper sp" (yes, i am a teenytinybit cross-eyed...)
i just have to practice noses
poking my tongue out (damn, that was exhausting holding this expression...)
wrinkeling my nose (another painful expression after a while, makes you sketch really fast...)

    but ballpens are great
    I use them a lot
just because you can't erase your lines!

    *breathe in -- breathe out*
yep, i remebered it pretty soon...
thanks for having another look, infinit! "treue seele" sozusagen, dank dir!

i've never worked with ballpen, but it surely teaches you some kind of efficency and care about the lines. need to work on my hatching, thought. just a little fun.

oh, and the house with is my granddad's and i was just waiting in an apartment that isn't rented right now... now that i think about it, waiting 45 minutes in an abandoned apartment sounds quite strange...

thanks a lot for visiting, hope your preparing for ABI isn't too stressy... heads up. forgot to ask what's your plan for after that, keep me updated!
    oops, time for bed.

    cleaning up the mess

    hello again.
following your advice, infinit, i took a little more time. and a harder pencil. and smooth paper...

so, that's the result. the scanner didn't get all the values, but it's okay, i think... as always, crits and comments most welcome!

    thanks for stopping by, guys!
well, right now i'm pretty bad at drawing ANYTHING without reference, so i better continue practising...
still working on my next page, some more animals... hey arco, if we put together all our animal sketches (loooooove your last page!) we can open a zoo!

oh, and infinit: thanks for your mail - hope your exams went fine. and there's bunch of new photos in my gallery, so i'm not "neglecting" my other thread!
