Well, PS is a bitch in the beginning but you kind of get used to it after a while... I'd suggest, make some stilllife paintings, draw some fruit or so. It will help you tighten your technique.

Ooh free life drawing! Gotta get some of that around here. Drawing a large woman looks like fun, lotsa curves n stuff. The rat thing is really interesting, although I can't decide if those round things are ears so some kind of freaky wings? O_o Photoshop is great fun to play around with. I usually do outlines first and kind of colour in from there, although that's probably not the proper painter way to do it.

Everyone in SSG 17 are sketching up a storm this week, my inbox is crying. Here's my week's update.

    Doodles:

Sketches for an environment for my next school project. I'm so excited for this assignment, I get to illustrate an environment based on a passage from a book, and i chose a castle in an alternate dimension from the book Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell.

The (almost) finished picture of my last school project. The completely finished version's at school right now. Fixed the perspective since last time.

Dile: ooh, very helpful, thx bud. You've made leaps of progress yourself, do you find black and white easier to work with?? I noticed you haven't done any coloured pictures yet.

Faust: Will do. Guess you can never escape the basics.. neeever. And about that free life drawing, my art teacher had the exact same reaction. There's one possibility I can think of why the school would pay models for non-students, it might to attract potential students. Who knows, only about seven people showed up though.

Bloodbane: That rat thing is a little creepy, there was a little backstory about it. Basically, he's the breadwinner of his house and the family's grown tired of the usual cheesefare, so tonight, he's trying meat for a change... ;d

Chisa: That's a great idea, outlines first. There's not really a correct or incorrect way of doing art, everyone just has to find a way that suits their style of drawing that they're most comfortable with.

It does help to have something to work from, especially if you're using a mouse because they're so hard to control O_o

That environment project looks like fun, and the sketches are looking good so far. I really like the composition of your 'Revival' project, especially the curves around the edges.

Chichigo sweet Chichigo, have you forsaken us?
Our dried, empty hearts crave new pictures from you! How long will this exile go on?
