are any of these done in open canvas by any chance?
i do rather like the pirate, how youve quickly captured his character.
in fact, i think what i like bout your work is how you set the mood in each one. each feels distinct

I like the scary thing with all the teeth. it makes me think of those late night impressionable moments when you open the closet and are faced with this gaping monstrosity -A jump, a scream, and a minor heart attack, then it turns out to be just a fringed jacket or something, but for just that one instant...

Nice. The last one feels like it's carrying a spiritual message.
I like when there is a message in art that makes us think outside the box.

mh, i feel pretty bad about this one....i posted a version for critique, and got some really good help. unfortunately, due to this being a pro bono project and my battle with time, i had to "settle" for this version. it could've been great...no, it's "ok" with crappy types.

good design sense.
try to vary your compositions a bit, a lot are symmetrical or central. give asymmetry a shot.
keep it coming!

Hey man, you have some really strong stuff here. The guy fading into the butterfly thingy grabbed me. Do you do most of your work digitally (I assume)?
Whatever you do, don't look at my Sketchbook and Painting Thread!

JProvost - tnx for the advice. you're absolutely right
hylandr2 - well, i just recently bought a wacom, so i'm trying to get a feel for it. the poster with the oil rig was my first fully digital piece ever, and to date the only fully digital "published" piece. for my comics, i still sketch and do all of the line-work the old fashion way. thank you for commenting

and some old piece of crap i found on my hd whilst cleaning up...i remember this one, was supposed to end up being a cd-cover. i had fun trying to make a propaganda-like collage out of four different photos of the band-members. the cd never happened, so i never finished it. ah well, happy times...:

Darktwin - thank you! it's based on a poster + wall i photographed while in prague last year
Cup of Joe - ty, i'm hoping to post more asap...there are some issues re the storyline that have to be settled, so graphically speaking, i'm currently just sketching and working on the layout
