And so shall the robot return.

Magic man : Thanks, and yeah, that enviro isnt really something i like now when I look at it..I guess its the style that bugs me the most. Thanks!

Bumskee : Hey man, nice to see you in here, however, I never though
of any style when I drawed it although I KNOW that isnt really the way I use
to draw, as you say, I have hidden alot in the black, bad, and the way of building it up with textures like numbers isnt what I use to neighter No references neigther..so..100% bad, I wont participate with it neighter, thanks
for stopping by anyways

Wolfbane : It was you saying i should post it ok, Im not blameing you
for me to make a bad piece of art I posted it myself.. I just..regret it now.
But its good to get some points and crits, so thanks! although I wish You said
that before I posted it cya!

Blanquish
: argh, I guess I lost the diciplin I never had.

Mika.K: awsome you say, I cant agree with that thanks anyways
and THANKS ALOT for the awsome "tutorial" really good to have in mind,
I need to do more envirostuff, and more reference stuff.. Im to lazy.
Thanks!

Myako: thanks , I guess thats what people mean by flat thanks for looking
by and im glad to be in ssg xXx!

Madcat: as bumskee said, I shouldnt worry bout the style, it will come, if I keep draw wich I will thanks though I will keep it up!
keep it up you too and tahnks for visiting my book!

Chandan: Hey, nice to see some new names here!
im not takeing any shortcuts, I wanna improve, and thats no lie..I want improve
so bad that I will do whatever it takes to do so, however this week havent
been a good week to do so... I guess im so out of inspiration..but now im doing my funky robots again.. haha lol, so bout the studies, i was mostly
doing em to understand the function of them, but no excuses, I HAVE
ended up with very rough results to much of the times I draw, so as
magic man said, in with the precise stuff and out with the rough and rushed.
So, maybe I will sit down doing some real studies to both learn rendering, and learn the functions, however when I did my "kickass" knee studie, some
people said it was quite useless so I guess it have alot to do with "your opinion" me myself thought it was all joy, so I prefear doing the knee studie, so I guess more of that stuff will come. I was tipsed today from Darktwin
of some good references, i have seen before, but I guess I was to uninstrested to improve. Thanks!!

Ryan DeMita : Hey man, nice to see you again! I dated my sb
from start, but under the time I did, I didnt had many visitors...and just some replies per week I guess that have changed now..
Thanks for your words man, and i will defiently do more ref stuff and listen
to what mika said! + trying to keep this shit daily haha thanks!

Oma: Thanks, I liked the skull myself alot aswell, one of those I have been happy with Although as mentioned in this thread , it looks abit like a stone instead of a skull. Thanks!

Wolfbane: I have missed you too!

Demented
: I have to ask, when you say flat, do you mean by
the same reason that Mika.K explained ? or am i getting this wrong, cause
I understand what "flat " means, im just trying to solve it haha and I seem to
suck at it since its mentioned everytime i do something. Thanks!!

Asoir: Thanks I will!

Derram: hah to be hounest I dont think I will finish it. THanks!

Zynic : nice to see you on CA!
Thanks for your words and keep it up!

Madcat: Me 2

James ; Yes I really need to redo the skull abit, im so happy with it
but i still got so many crits to solve, thanks you!
Keep it up!

Mentler: Wiii Great to hear some good words from you, very encourageing! your one of my biggest inspiration here at ca, and I hope you keep being so forever!
its very motivateing to look at your thread! Thanks to the BoneDoctor!

Dan: "Sorry i took some time to reply on your sb :/ " WHAT ? why do you saying that? I love when you comeing by! and crits are ALWAYS to help, right? Thanks for the words, I'll try to update the skull soon! Thanks
alot man, I really mean it!
Cheers!

Hurricane: Thanks man! yes it was meant to be a characther head, so yes real one, no stone, I will work on that, your right about forms I need to think more on that! Thanks man! I appreciate you takeing the time
to write so much Björn!

Demented: Hurri is always right I hope cause I always listen to what he says bit extra, thanks for the rate man! I appreciate it alot!

Bendragon: At the time im writeing this im doing long strokes with different pressures and stuff! wiii I have to clean the lines up alot! I always thinking
of it, but I EVEN iff seem to try to "refine" some lines by doing an extra line besides etc. Thanks!

Jake: Thanks I think I explained my self quite good one post up ^^
And I dont see that as an excuse so I keep on it

Pawlack, It will be my reserv Avatar I work on it and after that It be back again

Sep: haha thank myako of course lots of nice points you are mention!
I remember telling you something very similair a while ago.. haha and now you
doing such nice stuff on those points, maybe I should take my own advice, however its good to have you in the ssg and I will think alot of those tips and crits! thanks and keep it up!

Asoir: sure! but dont tell me im uncreative Thanks for the support!

and yeah, i have tried to draw some now because im out of drawing mood, hehe I started doing some robots of course, but I think I havent done some for a while, so imho its ok.

second one rocks so hard, Its unusual, interesting and well painted.

Think about "retro robots", they are the classic that everyone loves.
I dont really like the 3rd one, just because it doesnt look 3d, but im sure you learnt something from it.

    Awesome work dude
Now, some comments/crits on the artpieces you posted there...

    First one:
As guitarjames said, the feet aren't as good as the rest of it, but you can make them better in a flash
And, there is something about the blade that bothers me, but I can't put my finger on what :-/

    Second one
Awesome! It's got a nice "techy" feeling to it, and the colour works well
I would like to see some detail on the "face" though, but it's your design, so you make the calls ;D

    Third one
Nice work again, but the text on its forehead doesn't look like it belongs to the robot, it just looks "slapped onto the picture", if you know what I mean? Try to make it look a bit more like it's really painted onto him, and not the 2D-surface that you've drawn it on

    Keep it up ;D

    'Lo dile .

The 2nd robot looks best because the the lighting is consistent. Someone may have mentioned in the the torrent of great advice you got over the last few pages, but it might be worth repeating. Working on form will make your paintings stronger and read better.

So bust out those cube/cylinder/sphere/pyramid studies ! Once your fimiliar with those, you can reconstruct any scene with those elements and light it consistently.

a master studie, I havent timed it so I have no clue how long time
It have taken me.. I started picken 6 colors, after that I have only relayed on

Sorry for the small picture, imageshack is being a bitch, it was quite small from beginning, but now its very small.

You said you picked colors- from the pic itself or from looking at the ref and choosing them yourself? The latter is a great way to learn to see color.

Keep working hard. If this is what you live for you can't ever give up no matter how frustrating and slow it is.

I'm kind of in the same situation you are in (mine's more extreme), so I'd write more but I don't want to get in trouble for saying something inappropiate.

Just keep going and if you end up hurting others as well yourself then so what? This is for your DREAM man, and it's worth all the pain. Good luck.

    Pawlack : Wiii Thanks

Pixel dragon : I took 6 "swatches" out of the picture, the orignal reference..
after that I only used the alt button, or the colorwheel to select color

heres some more bigger this time.
