well i drew this thinking that something marvelous could be inside a jar.. something amazing.. anyway first i thought "a mini galaxy" but then i saw the work that demiuric did.. so.. lets make up something else lol.. um.. inside the jar is a creation of natural light. he's using the flashlight to recharge it. So that there will no longer be a need for things like power stations. ppl would purchase this product and no longer rely on the sun, or electricity, because 1 burst of light to it, gives it light strength for 1000 years at full capacity.

    yeah.. sounds good enough haha

    anyway here you go
    enjoy.
    took me about 4 hours.

well, i found the best size was at most height=600 and width = 800.
that way everyone can enjoy the [what i like to call] "full view experience"

i hope this helps you. take care.
    [ps. awesome pic.]

    Hideyoshi-thanks man,inking in Open canvas,for the comics,I think that I
am getting there.Left hand of darkness is right hand of light.
And now is allmost a page,I think you will like it.
Chaosrocks-It is really difficult to think only in light and shadows and for me
there is nothing more elegant then inking.Just have fun man.

Trying to find a better way to eat the ultimate dessert without the hazard of staining his suit, Mr. Bode has had a sort of happy accident, creating flapping flan. Time to figure out if it has a use

Didn't have much time tonight so only a quick 30 minute sketch. Maybe slightly unoriginal but no one seems to have done it yet so what the hell.

    Nice pics everyone. Especially Demiurgic.

Painter, still practising the app. I reckon it took about an hour or so, still not happy with the coat. Painter works alittle choppy for me so I'll need to take a look at some other [smoother] brushes.

    hamsta--laughing,,,spontaneously . I love it!

I think Goran has encourages the expressionist in us all! what a great set of experiments! flawed? of course....

Roscoe ----- try a non monochromatic pallette (says she whos submission was black and white.... start workin g layers of colours from oposite ends of the colour wheel. spike the orange/yellow with shadows of blue green.

Hezz-- when totally stumped I always revert back to actual paint..its easier to control.. pencilpens paper.... I kinda feel that its hard to handle the digital media without a good grasp of traditional media.... just a thought.. you want fluidity...try ink.

Astarsia---the figure seems a little blocky maybe?....reminds me of American Primitives.....nice glow....

TjC--- nice.....I'd love to see this finished and polished

Goran- did you do the Puppet master Chow? This reminds me of that, I was still lurking then. I really like this drawing.. I usually work from a black surface pulling out the whites...which way do you go. ? I m just curious.

just of the cuff commentary... for quick sketches so many of these are wonderfully expressive..(and a nice break from wrassling withthe perspective on my EOW entry)
    respectfully submitted '

    Setmonkey-thank you
Roscoe-coool shapes on the first one, much more cool on another one
    Chaosrocks-no I didn’t do puppet master, actually I started something, didn’t
Like it, then work, you know the story.
When I am inking I an starting with very loose outlines then shadows
Following the source of light, then black surrounding, then the fun
biggins, little white here little black there, few layers, adjusting the transpa-
rency just to see what I am doing, all this is Open Canvas mainly spoon
    brush. Hope this helps. Cheers.

When I was young, I could do all-nighters in my sleep.

Chaosrocks Really? lol, it's so silly.
you're work is very bizarre, and cooky, I actually like all the little mistakes you have, like the way the guys forehead is off, makes him look smarter, or the wierd fingers.
I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at inside the jar, some sort of book worm maybe?
Would be great in a traditional media like a woodcut, or some snazzy print.

it is silly..thats part of what I like about it

The sketches are something I don't go back and fix. usually..I come from tradtional media and my husband is a printmaker...perhaps thats why my Black and white stuff tends to look like they are in terms of relief printing.

Im not suure what's in the jar either..whatever it is its looking at him.
nice to hear someone's comments...I usually feel pretty invisible..but I keep drawing and I keep talking....and I am getting better. (though this weeks EOW has got me totally tangled in perspective).
    Thanks
