Lightbulb NEED INFO FOR MY SENIOR PAPER: Computer/Video game Art history

    Hi!

    Please help! ^__^

    I am looking for:
*Names of most influencial Illustrators in Computer/Video games.
*Names of some of the first Computer/Video game Illustrators.
*Helpful links on "Computer/Videogame Art history".
*URLs of interviews with Computer/Video game Illustrators.

While there seems to be a lot of info on the "History of Games"... the info about the Illustrators involved is very spars.

This is for my senior thesis at art school.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    nice list of link...

*Names of most influencial Illustrators in Computer/Video games.
How do you define influence? Most games sold? Or is it someone whose work was disruptive and changed something? You probably won't find anyting "solid" but try looking for art directors/creative directors of big companies.

*Names of some of the first Computer/Video game Illustrators.
Early games had very small teams and the graphics were so "bad" that there was no need for illustrators. Pong doesn't really have anygraphics at all? You should try looking for second generation games.

*Helpful links on "Computer/Videogame Art history".
It's a new field. It depens what excatly need. Concept/design and illustration or 3d, graphics engines and that type of stuff.

*URLs of interviews with Computer/Video game Illustrators.
Look at fan pages. Some will have interviews or links (and try wikipedia with the artist's name). And you could try the conceptart.org wiki here. Look under concept artists (in the Table of Contents) for links to some homepages. Some are concept artists in the PC/video game industry, and some are in the film industry (and some both). And you could try "The industry" in the links section too. You should be able to find some more links.

Sorry I can't help you directly, only with some more links and tips on where to look for information.
