Yeah, this is some good stuff. I really like the emotion coming through in your life drawings, and I can see a strong, appealing style emerging in your illustration pieces too. Some really beautiful linework in here also Keep it up!

Some really nice stuff going on here. I dig the line quality in some of your life drawings. There are some peices where I think you nailed them really well and others that arent so good. You do have some really nice character/creature designs. Keep up the good work.

i really love your life drawings, so expressive yet they seem to retain all the proportions of the body (to a certain point). POST MORE!!

What the hell, I coulda sworn I commented in this sketchbook weeks ago. Your gestures are amazingly expressive and loose, and just really really cool. Love the washes you're adding, too. Very awesome.

Some amazingly expressive gestures here, I'm really digging the loose linework.

One thing I have noticed in your (I'm assuming) life studies is that you consistently make the heads of your subjects far too small for the bodies. I'm not sure if this is a "style" thing or what, I just felt it needed pointing out in case it was unintentional.

Based on the earlier works in the thread (dated around the beginning of this month) I would say that you need to work on your color choices. It is particularly obvious in the digipaint of the elf girl with the sabertooth tiger. I'm not too sure on how to advise you to fix this, though, considering I'm not all that great with color myself. Something just seems off...

I really enjoyed looking at the progress shots you made of your most recent watercolor painting. Unlike the other pieces I mentioned, I think you made some wonderful color choices (perhaps you're simply more comfortable using traditional media?) and as a whole the painting is an immense success.

Can't wait to see more from you.

Wow, I'm in love with your brush stroke! It's so confident and full of life. You and that brush of yours are gonna go far. Your character style reminds me a little of something you would see in the Capcom world. Top-notch stuff!

Oh! That watercolor coloring is really lovely!
I liked the characters and the way you worked the colors too.

The lines you did with brush and black ink in the drawing of your sister are very fluid as always. I love that aspect. We can see your potential all over those pieces, Eva. Can't wait to see more drawings!

    maxetormer: thank you !
LoTekK: i plan on practicing more with those washes. =)
steinspinne : oh i know about the heads and the reason for them being so small is that i start out drawing the heads first, which is a big no no XD lately ive been drawing the torso first to try and tackle that problem. the elf girl and tiger are from a game called world of warcraft, i try to color according to the way the game handles color. try looking up screen caps of Nightelfs on google. thank you for that awesome feedback btw
GHill : lol thanks XD capcom world ??!
unknown_epiphany: tis the center of the world ya know...XD
devil-inside: thank you devil XD will try to keep up!

i was trying to have some fun kid friendly thing going on with this pic, tryed all different types of media! was very fun to do.

    life drawings!

yes i have to pay more attention to those hands =(

I like the variety of colors on the first drawing of this update. Which kind of medias have you used there? I liked the lines in the life drawings. Finally a man. LOL. I have to do some life drawings. I never made a life drawing in my life... not being an university student yet is so uncool.

nice work, im a fan of this one http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...lerversion.jpg

be careful with the anatomy in your life drawing, mainly in the arms, im noticing like some distortion in the form..try doing some studies of the bones and the surface form so you can see how the twist works.,.,.

as my friend Rodrigo stated, you need better definition of form. You have strong lines, good proportions and decent aesthetics. And yea I wanna see some hand studies.

Wow, that last colored piece looked like crazy fun to do. I need to do some live figure studies myself; waiting on the organizer for the next session.

whoa! The confidence in your lines is quite impressive! It gives me goosebumps! The abstract route your takin' is interesting as well, I am sure you have heard all of this stuff already though. One thing I would like to see you work on though, is your form/values. . . . Maybe do a couple quickies and toss em' in with your nest post? Awesome sketchbook Eva!

hey great work. Your life studies are wonderful. Some of them have wonky proportions but i dont think thats a bad thing. It looks like you are either using the continuous line approach or just using the minimal wispy gestural lines for sketching out the figure and i think your figures have TONS of life to them as a result. So even the wonky proportions on some totally works almost as a style choice, even if it's not cuz the poses look natural. Anatomy is important but dont get too caught up in the details. Stay loose and keep it fun!

Check out this artist, John Mahoney. He was an Visual Development artist at Disney for years. He uses a similar approach in his quick drawings from life. CLICK HERE

Geez! Your lines really are so sweet!!! Do you have any excersises you use to get lines like that? Maybe some suggestions? And about the gestures. . . well at least you updated! I still haven't done a thing. . . . The gestures are pretty expressive, but it would be cool to see some more stuff! Waiting fer the next update . . . .
