I envy your bodies. There is some really hefty "dynamics" in your bodies. Mine always come out flat. Do you have any secret recipe for it?

On the more serious side of things, Faces are looking better now. Without doubt. There is even some lady faces there.
The zombie reminds me of the zombie in the Flachmovies "Xombie". Seen those? If not they will get you in the right mood for the competition.

Just read the burne hogarth book 'dynamic figure drawing' and do some studies. he has a cool way of explaining foreshortening and figure in 3d space, well worth a read if only for interest i'd say.

cheers for the comments! I'll see if i can pick up those movies sometime. ;-)

the zombies could be cooler if not so bulky and muscular. more thin and decayed kinda .
but its a fun concept. not sure where you was going with them. scary or comic. or more like action zombies?

    like to see more .

thx for the comments all -

@mort this was my first real try at exaggerated proportions, and is for a compo which hinges on stylised character for a fighting game. that might explain some of my choices for the proportions better. Also bear in mind he is nekkid in that last pic, I will have the clothed version done soon so he will resemble a zombie-cowboy much more when that happens.

liking the heads as well but don't get to wild with them, well you can go wild but take care on the anatomical structure of the skull, so that the heads are individual and drawn right at the same time!
This digital environment is pretty nice but I miss composition and some focal stuff very much. Right now it looks rather uninteresting for the eye, maybe you should work out some more details on the bridge.

Nice stuff all in all, keep at it, and yeah soem boobs would be really nice

    Greetings,
Thanks for stopping by my sketch pad

Great sketch book, your figures have great body language. They manage to comunicate a lot about themselves. Very dynamic. Hogarth is one of my biggest figure drawing resources, but mine don't seem to have a lot of life. Maybe if I hang around here some of your talent will rub off.

Just to let you know, that last Zombie Cowboy sketch went into my inspiring art folder. Great attitude.

Question. What is the SSG #15 all about?

q-caddlewick: Ta 4 the coments, much appreciated - as for "Sketchbook support group" - it is for people to have a loose bond and crit each others sketchbooks as much as possible, to encourage each other to keep going! We just happen to be the 15th 'set' of people to go into the scheme.
There's a thread where you can set them up with other people somewhere, do a search for support group and it should come up - have fun!

Hey great sb, I enjoy the themes youve got going. The flavor of your art is pretty cool. Thanks so much for letting me and wake join your ssg! There is a lot of great art going on in this group.

Sorry to hear about the scanner, hope you get it repaced or fixed. Have a safe trip and come back safely, and post lots of art!
