How old are you Ganbat? It seems the comic book era and the giants that led it have groomed our generation with a fascination of battle, and portraying it artistically. We've been soaking in movies and books on the subject for decades. In art, we've seen countless attempts by artists (myself included) at producing a moment of sweaty, bloody climax in battle, and at this point, we've seen it enough that it is becoming old. However, when I see your sketches, this is not the case. I'll coin the necessary phrase "it may be just me, but..." your art puts me ON the battle field. I can almost feel what these warriors feel. Great work man. I've got a few crits, but I don't feel like issuing them right now--just want to enjoy your stuff for a while and see what else you put out. My bookcases are full of frank frazetta, jeremy jones, and hundreds of others--if you have some published work, I'd love to buy it. Thanks again, love the sketches dude!

    Kris

btw-this is my first post at this site, sorry if it was too long.

This work is fantastic. I love the gesture you're getting in these sketches. How much reference are you working from? I love the subject matter, and the digital AND your analogue execution. Just great. I'm going to be coming back.

The one thing that I'd like to say, though its not a crit, is that I'd like to see this coming out a little "sharper", if that makes sense. You've hit the ground running with this sketchbook from the very first post. But on the subject of that very first post, that first image is absolutely wonderful, I can't get enough of it. And though its a rougher sketch than a lot of your digitals, its more what I mean when I say I'd like to see them "sharper". I guess you're working from photoshop, but maybe using a brush in photoshop that has more of an edge to it than just a circlular brush? Again, this isn't really a critique, its more of a request, because I'd like to see what you'd do with it.

Love your stuff, I'm definitely paying attention to your thread.
