I really have to say, this is honestly some of the best stuff I have seen from you. Such variety and style, truly enjoyable to see. Please do post more! Very inspiring.

Ahhh glen, you know for me it is all about the fishbowl head dude with the rocket pack holding the alien.

I just love it when you do that stuff!

My favorites are the devil and the announcer - both have really nice attitude/stances. Beautiful renderings all around, though!

Haha, my bad man. First, didnt think youd post work from that long ago. Second... They really butchered it in the printed version.

Hey dude, no problem. I had been going through my old back ups and found
a bunch of concepts that I had totally forgotten about. Hence the age on them. They have brought up some interesting points though:

discombobulated wrote: "I really have to say, this is honestly some of the best stuff I have seen from you..."

    and

    Dutton wrote: " Gangus, WOW!
This is some of the best work I've seen from you. I'd love to see this quality in your finished work!..."

Comments like this really intrigue me. How would you say this work is better than my recent posts? Is it the cleaner line edge quality of my pencils? The stylization in the anatomy? I am very interested to hear your opinions in comparisons to some of my recent posts - going back to the Odin, Vader, , Dredd, Balrog, Hel and Thor posts. I have felt like I have been making some improvements in my recent works, and am interested in what specific elements from the older work that you think I should focus on carrying forward. Perhaps I should pick up the pencil more as opposed to composing on the wacom. I felt the digital pencil gave me some more freedom in going back and redrawing elements, being more free flowing with my thought process, and a fluidity to expression that I normally miss when (as I remember) being a "tight ass" with some of these older pencils.
Hopefully I can apply some of/or both approaches to my process, your opinions on this matter are most welcome.

    Respectfully,
    Gangus

Very nice and clean pencil works man. I really like your cartoonish stuff like the devil. It just has a good personality to it.

amazing stuff gangus. What totally blows me away though, is the variation in style. Now I feel so narrow it hurts . ouch.

    some more concept work...

As promised I am putting up some more concept work.
Much of this new stuff hasn't been seen.

The first page is for Fisch: The piece on the left side is one of many to come
paintings of my daughter. Less an accurate depiction of a realistic portrait, more to capture her character:

    Name: con_9.jpg
Views: 146
Size: 403.4 KB

Pge 2 - Some drawings of old and a quick hero concept (left side).
The angel on the far right is the first time I used Mrs. Gangus as reference.
    Name: con_10.jpg
Views: 141
Size: 487.5 KB

Lastly - Some Bio/organic future race concepts and a Dragon and angel design done for Wizards:

    Name: con_11.jpg
Views: 150
Size: 376.5 KB

Thats all fer now- I put up some more, as things get released and privacy policies are lifted.
    Thanks again for the response.
    Respectfully,
    Gangus

Holy crap flaptraps - I just hit that link to your ridiculously huge 8 page post.
It is amazing you have drawn every thing under the sun and made it badass. What the hell.

anyone looking here should go check your work out right after.

To be honest I hadn't known about you till today. I never get my sketchbooks to look that cool - I always end up tearing out more pages than I keep. You guys drawing 4-8 hours a day are doin it right. You musn't have kids, or are in your twenties and on speed just kidd'n.

    Anyways -thanks for the comment.

Really really good stuff. You have a great diversity in your styles, but they all seem to work together.

In response to one of your previous posts comparing this work to some of your much more recent:

I think people are drawn to the clean rendering you achieve with this work compared to your more recent stuff. I know that's certainly what captures my interest, as it seems you can cram much more detail into one of your line drawings or pencil renderings than you can into your more recent, more painterly images.

It's also nice to see such a breadth of work from you, and to see your thought process through concepts and such.

It's not to say that your new work is of any lesser quality, quite the opposite, it's just interesting to see a different perspective of an artist on occasion. Personally, I like to see your pencils because it seems to be the medium you're more comfortable with.

Either way you look at it, this thread and those you have posted in the past have been tremendously inspiring for me. Keep up the good work!
