    Assassin Spiders

Sorry about the lack of details, but they're only an eighth of an inch long.

Man, can't find any pictures of those guys either. But I did find some cool pictures of an "assassin bug" which doesn't quite seem to be the same thing, but is still freakin' cool nonetheless.

Check out this site and search for assassin on the page and check out that bug. There's a couple of him eating a beetle that's pretty hot.

I used to think the same. Until I saw a spider web in a window of my room. I was about to take it down, until I saw that there was some nasty fly caught in the web. So I let this spider stay.. He never left the window area, and always did his job.

But most spiders are total assholes.

After graduating HS I spent 8 mo's on the big island of Hawaii at my dads place. I had grown up there as a kid and grew deathly afraid of spiders due to my mom always freaking out about the cane spiders.

Anyways, one day I found a cane spider hanging suspended by his abdomen from the gutter. He was dead, legs hanging limply, stuck there by what looks like his guts and I wondered "huh, how did that happen?" Well, a week or so later I found out. I had seen these big, horsefly lookin' wasps around the property and one day I saw one out by the generator shed attacking a cane spider. He subdued it then proceeded to drag the entire thing (which was probably 2-4 times its body mass) several feet up the inside of the generators foam insulation. I remembered seeing a Discovery channel special about wasps that lay their eggs in spiders (tarantulas?) and assumed this was something of the same thing.

I liked those wasps after that.
