    portfolio question

I'm putting together my portfolio for art school, that has to be submitted in a few weeks and I wanted to ask you guys a quick question.

Do you think it would be a bad idea to include a PS painting of a popular comic book character, namely Wolverine? I've been wanting to do one for a while, but I dont want to put the time into right now if it won't be considered seriously, or just as "fan art" in my portfolio.

If you are going to be doing work specifically for your college entrance portfolio there are much better ways you could spend your time.

Wouldn't you be better off with a design of your own hand then?
