    Capprotti's Sketchbook v2.0 - 12/08/07 Random Sketch

In honor of my new moleskine and the fact that the old stuff in my last sketchbook thread looks like art diarrhea, I decided to start a new sketchbook thread. Which will hopefully be a little prettier than much of the last one. To christen this thread, here's a couple sketches from tonite.

This was done in Reau's sketchbook. There's an old school cop-out profile back there. Good Times.

Hey man, good work in this 2nd SB. I'm liking the figure with wings. I'm getting my first moleskin this weekend so i'll be in the same boat. Wouldn't mind seeing more. Cheers!

Something about a Moleskine that makes you wanna start fresh and fill it up as fast as possible.
Great start here. I'd love to see you loosen up a bit though. I know it's difficult on a fresh book, but you've got some great ideas, don't worry so much about a clean page or perfect drawings!

hey great sketches. im liking the guy with wings, you should flesh that out more. nice paintings in your other thread as well.
is that a moleskin 'sketchbook' or moleskin unlined 'notebook'? cause i have to say that i think the paper in the moleskin sketchbook is crap - its like oak tag.
i prefer the realy thin, cheap stuff in the notebook.

Looking good dude...you're still into wolverine, ha? Your anatomy is getting better...do you life-draw? I think I suggested drawing with pen to you a while ago...it's a good excersize, non-forgiving medium, sorta like ink, lets you work from big to small, preserving energy. I'd love to see you take a shot at it.

Oh man.. >< You. Are. God. I would give my soul to draw like you. *sigh* lol I'd ask you a ton of questions on how to do stuff.. but yeah. I'm not worthy. *bows*

I can't spell, and I'm not the best at drawing feel free to critique.

Wow! So this is what I get for not posting for a while. I have to reply to a small handful of comments. But you were nice enough to leave them so there's no way I won't reply. The reason I haven't been posting is because I forgot how to draw... literally. So there's a bunch of pages from my sketchbook that you'll never see. Actually I'd prefer never to see them again. But here's some of the crap I am willing to show, but only because if I don't than I'll have nothing to offer. Well here goes.

Zord - Thanx man, that winged thingy was really fun to draw. D'ya get that moleskine yet???

Andy P - Thanx And! Little by very little I'm getting better with the figure. Hope my future posts don't let you down.

Dutton - Ha ha, you nailed it man! Ha ha ha, that's exactly how I felt when I started this book, "keep things clean, don't make a mess". That's a pretty stupid way of thinking, and I am always battling that. That kinda mind frame only kicks in at like 5 in the morning when I'm starting to become delerious. LIke last night, the sketches weren't ground breaking, but there were fun and I was thinking outside of the box a bit.

Bumskee - Thanx Jim, i'm painting a lot more these days and it feels fucking GREAT!!! I think I'm gonna hit up Al Gury soon and see if he's got any classes going that I can jump in on. Yea, the sketchbook is a "sketchbook" not the notebook. I definitely woudln't say the paper is "crap" at all, although I can understand not being a big fan of that type of stiff smooth paper. I really like the notebook too, it's less intimidating.

Crazybrush - Good to see you back man. I don't get to draw from life almost at all anymore, but that's something I'm trying to change. I can be lazy too, but that's something I'm trying to change as well. I LOVE drawing with pen, i'm assuming you mean a ball point? I haven't done it in a while though. I'm gonna try and do that again soon.

Undertow - Thanx Mike. I'm praying I can find a way to scrounge up ANY money to get to Montreal. Money has been REALLY scarce lately.

Dile - Thanx. Yea I use it pretty much everyday, but when I comes to sketching, I try to stick with traditional medium. But I definitely do still mess with some digital sketches every once in a while.

Bombarder - I'm assuming that this was the first thread you saw on this site, because if ANYTHING I'm far from worthy when it comes to like... 80% of the other artists on here, so I definitely know how you feel. Ha ha, thanx so much though, that's pretty cool that you dig my sketches so much. Hope it was in inspiration on some level. That's all that matters.

I'm gonna scan some sketches now, I'll have those up in a couple minutes.

Here's some sketches from my moleskine.

I was getting fucking tired of drawing the same type of face, so I decided to start practicing different types of facial features.

    More to come...

OrozcO - I couldn't agree more, like reau said that's a habit I'm trying to break. Wish me luck. That's the kind of comment I love to hear, makes me aware of what I need to improve on.

Reau - Ha ha, reau, you got the hottest one trick ever man... sexy ass naked women. And we love it.

Hey man, wish I could give you some crits, but instead I just stop by to stare for a while and tell you how cool everything looks. I like your take on Wolvie in those head studies.

Please stop by my new Anatomy Sketchbook and critique the hell out of it.
