    possessed:
concept: Back in the old days, dragons thrived. The fire breathing dinosaur descendants had spread their leathery wings all across the globe. From the heat stricken deserts to lush jungles, the most remote places as well as venturing inside the territory of men. This latest act was brought to a halt when livestock started disappearing and villages were turned into ashes. Those dragons that dared venture into the heart of the human world were soon hunted down and killed. Not even the nests and wyrmlings of the dragons were safe as they were slain during heroic expeditions of mankind. It was only a matter of time before the great dragon race was turned into a small brood of only a handful of the smartest and strongest surviving wyrms. These wyrms migrated to remote places such as swamps, islands and some of the most hardened creatures even swarmed to the arctic regions of the planet. It was a place barely suited for dragons as the food supply was low and the weather conditions harsh.
As it turned out, hunger and cold, were but the least of the dragons worries. The dragons in the frozen regions were being hunted. Hunted by something far worse then humans. Those unfortunate enough were stricken from the skies and received a merciless beating from an unseen force. Their blazing hell fires proved useless against this deceptive foe. Their dagger like claws were weak against the iron hard exterior that landed blow after blow on their scaly hides. Scouting dragons tell tales of these frigid behemoths eating their kin whilst the life of the doomed still, but barely, flowed in their veins, and turning the snow a sickening red.
Over time, a few of the most savage dragons learned to adapt to the climate and the chilling predators of the arctic and became frost dragons, as cool and merciless as their surroundings.

    silentkitty:
    concept: Vampire Bug
Although not much to look at, these little transparent creatures are the native dragon's worst enemies. The bug, which reaches a maximum of one foot in length, hides itself beneath the sands of the deserts that the dragons habitate and waits until it feels the vibrations of its prey heading toward its position. When the dragon is in range, the bug launches itself out of its shallow cave, latching itself onto the neck of the victim. It then releases a powerful electric shock that stuns the dragon long enough for the vampire to jab its pointed, hollow tongue into the jugular, where it feeds on the blue blood of the dragon until full. They are solitary hunters, but because of their size, they can't ingest all of the blood of a single dragon by themselves and are often joined by "opportunity feeders", which feed until the victim is nothing but a bloodless husk on the desert floor.

    Corrick:
    concept: Bellows Whale
While hunting, this enormous beast expels copious amounts of steam from thermal vents, which, with its white skin, serves to disguise it as a cloud as it wanders along dragon flight paths. Sensory organs along its sides sense pressure differences in the air, telling it when a dragon is near. As potential prey enters its kill zone, the "whale" emerges from the cloud without warning, shoving its jaws forward and wide open, filling what was a vacuum in its gullet with the air in the immediate vicinity. The suction drags the hapless dragon into its throat, where it is crushed by compressing musculature.
Due to the scarcity of dragons in general, the Bellows Whale has adapted to a lethargic lifestyle between hunts, taking cover in the cloud deck, conserving energy for heat generation and short bursts of speed.

    ogar555:
    concept: White Spitter
This monster roams the land looking for it's prey. Dragons. When one is found the White Spitter gathers air and fluid in the chambers on its back to build up a high pressure in its trunk and starts producing a resin-like substance beneath its throat. Then at the right moment the substance is pushed into the trunk and the pressure is released. Practically shooting it at the target. If it hits a wing on the dragon it will most likely fall to the ground almost helplessly. All the White Spitter has to do after that is find the spot where the dragon landed and beat it to death with its "fists".

    chaosrocks:
concept: The very sophistcated Pharsits, eat only Dragon, prefering the small tender green ones. being basically lazy but very clever they lure and capture the dragons. They find that they are good with sage dressing although som eprefer a fruity orange based sauce.

    br0ken_spirit:
    concept: Sentient Fungal Behemoth
Found mostly in uncharted or unexplored areas, these travelling fungi feed on large carcasses of animals. The are frequently found in dragon cementaries, where plenty of food is available. When moving, they emmit a bright light from their sensorial eye-like organ, illuminating a short distance. Since gargatuan mushrooms are not uncommon in the regions that the Sentient Fungal Behemoths can be found, they can stay very still and mimick these large mushrooms. They do this to escape potentially dangerous situacions, though their tentacles can be used as melee weapons if hidding fails.
The light emmiting organ, if cut out, can be sold for quite a high price. Its tough as amber but fairly easy to cut out. Even if removed from the body, the amber-like organ still shines with bright light if moved around. Scholars argue that this is due to a chemical reaction, but for some the light is actually magic.

    hwango:
concept: The Storm King Eel usually attacks from an ambush - lurking inside a cloud until a dragon, roc, or other suitably large flying animal passes nearby. Two of the eel's tentacles end in large, bladed points, and it uses these to cripple or pin the prey's wings, assuming it possesses them. The eel then ensnares its prey in its constricting tentacles and delivers a massive surge of electricity, which is usually enough to kill or stun most victims. Once the target is subdued, the eel closes in to saw through any tough hide or shell with its tiny forelimbs, and then begins to feed.

    Brand_X:
concept: The albino Bog Toad of Kriaxis IV is the only known predator of the swamp drakes that infest the wetlands of the planet. Most beasts are put of by the dragons ability to ignite its hydrocarbon rich saliva and spit a sort of bio-naplam lugi at any perceived foe. The Bog Toad however, is protected by thick rolls of mucus saturated skin and is all but impervious to such attacks. Feeding on the planets bounty of carb rich dragony goodness a Bog Toad can grow to prodigious size.

    Jonoy:
    concept: Cheuliodus fasoani The skyviper
Scholars and thinkers alike often wondered why there is such a variety of dragons in the world with little or no overlap of territories, what with being able to fly such distances and having few natural predators.
Cheuliodus knows why; few make it across the great oceans alive.
Their favourite food is dragon flesh, the magic in them makes them taste like giant chickens and cheuliodus will track their prey for days for that right moment when the thermal updraughts flowing across the ocean
surface will bring a dragon down under 1000ft above sea level. building up incredible speed, the skyviper will pouncing from the water in a spray of brine, gracelessly hurtling through the 'great-lack' until their jaws close around the scrumptious morsel.

    artiphats:
concept: Brown Earth Dragons that cross the Aidemo Sea, when not careful, can become lunch for Giant Wahltorians. Leaping out of the ocean with tremendous power and acuracy, these dragon eaters can survive on eating just one dragon every 5-6 months. Having excellent eyesight for a water dwelling beast, they actually are very slow moving when not grabbing dinner.

    Irish_Jim:
    concept: Argosi Saccus
As with many of the southern coastal species, this particular amphibian has developed a rather...unique method of hunting. While its native habitat boast very little in the way of walking food, it is a well-known migration route for several species of dragon. The "puffer," as it is playfully called, produces as a side-effect (one should note, this is the only side-effect, as well as the only waste product the creature produces) of digestion an amalgamation of gasses far lighter than the atmosphere around it. As the species has evolved without any regular orifice to release this gas, it becomes trapped in a large organ in the front of the creature's body, just between the musculature and skin. As this highly elastic sac bloats, the gas eventually lifts the beast high into the air, settling on an altitude just above the clouds.
Keen eyes, suited for blocking out the harsh, unfiltered rays of the sun without sacrificing sharpness, can see the changes in cloud formation which signal a dragon's approach from miles away, and the nerve impulse which expels the collection of digestive gas through vents between the Puffer's vertebrae is timed nearly perfect. On its downward plunge, the Puffer places all of its weight behind its toughened beak, just over forty pounds(18 kg) but with more than enough speed to tear through the thick hide and rough scales of all but the heartiest species of dragon. Mortally wounded, most dragons put up little fight before hitting the ground hard enough to kill. The Puffer, being toothless, simply unhinges its jaws to swallow its prize whole, to digest and begin anew the cycle of hunting and feeding.

    romance:
    concept: The Kyoto Cloud Catcher
As mystical and rare as its prey was, the Kyoto Cloud Catcher hunted and fed on Japanese and Chinese Dragons (and the occasional kitten). These creatures could be found soaring the skies of the Orient, alone or in pairs, ridding the skies of dragons. Sharp vision and claws, along with great agility allowed this ace to cut the dragon population down to near extinction. The remaining dragons ended up hiding in architecture and statues. Eventually, with food becoming scarce, the Kyoto Cloud Catcher began hunting its own kind, bringing it's own species to a mere memory.

    walnut:
concept: Those who claim that dragons are the fiercest creatures in this world are wrong. The title goes out to the Great Cliff Spiders of the Gothrolin mountain ranges. Although considerably smaller than its prey , a Cliff Spider can take down a full-grown Silver Spineback in a matter of minutes. It manages this feat by awaiting its prey in caves along the cliffs leading to the prey's breeding ground, and lashing out with its front legs and sticky venomous spit when the prey passes by close enough. The dragon has little chance to escape as it gets dragged down the ravine and torn to bits by its ferocious attacker. Cliff Spiders are very rare and do not often grow to maturity. The specimens that do can easily be recognized by their white colour. Their skin (100% fireproof and a very wanted item with alchemists) turns bleached and blasted from the fiery breath of the dragons they slay.

    mybutterflyiris:
    concept: Quokal
A Quokal is a small furry creature whose diet mainly consists of dragon. They fly around in packs of hundreds awaiting their next prey. When grouped together dragons cannot distinguish them from the clouds and will unawareingly fly into them. The Quokals will then immediately attack and inject a neurotoxin (from their fangs) leaving the dragon completely helpless as they feast upon it.

    madplanet:
concept: This eater of dragons disguises itself as a potential lair for any wandering dragons with its huge mouth mimicking a cave opening. The cave mouth never closes, it just digests whatever enters deep enough.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    tou:
    concept: dlaab dlaw
The oldest texts refer to this creature as the"dlaab dlaw", the true name of this dragon predator has been lost with the death of the last dragons. The ancient texts tells of how the "dlaab dlaw" scoured the lands, hunting dragons eggs. Dragon shell is known to withstand the hardest steel but the "dlaab dlaw" could excrete a liquid venom that burns through the hardened eggshell. "Dlaab dlaws" always hunted in packs and could devestate a whole generation in one night. They were an elusive creature that could never be caught and has not been seen since the last dragon eggs disappeared.

    guggenmaneuver:
    concept: white dragon gobbler
It has two legs. And it has wild an appetite for dragons. It lives in the holen, attacking on the dragons whereas they sleep. To attack, sticks it is two toxic canines in their necks, and finishes to the upper part of the rest with a VERY flexible mouth and lips which plane gone the rest of flesh.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    MIKECORRIERO:
    concept: Gorgetuan
Giant of the underworld, these gargantuan sized beasts lay hidden within the earth, never seen by human eyes because they have never breeched the surface, not even at night. These Whales of the underground are pigment-less due to their underground life styles, leaving them pure white with the exception of their organs.
Gorgetuans tunnel through the ground leaving a gigantic maze of caves, ripping away at the soil with their large powerful claws and 6 small flipper-like appendages. Their skin is as tough as rock and almost impenetrable by human or beast. They are armored with a mouth full of razor sharp serrated teeth, mounted in rows of 3 and even protruding through their lower and upper folds of skin just above and below the mouth.
Reaching lengths of up to one hundred feet, these indestructible killing machines prey upon large creatures and seem to have a craving for dragon flesh. It's the sweet smell of the dragons breath and fiery taste that enrages the Gorgetuan... leading it right to the dragons lairs where they are most vulnerable and incapable of flight or quick retreat. In means of survival, the Gargetuan will lay its eggs, camouflaged among a dragons nest, leaving it up to its prey to nurture and look after its young until they are born.
