DSG 1005: Sci-Fantasy: SPACESUIT IS HIGHLY INFLUENCED BY ANCIENT-AMERICAN CULTURE

    [ A little costume design, today. ]

[ The Ancient-American influence can be from either northern or southern hemisphere. ]

    [ By "ancient", I really mean anything that's pre-European invasion. ]

    [ So... ]

[ ...Think Inca, Maya, Apache, Navajo, etc. ]

[ Did you write your doctoral thesis on jewelry, clothing, and textiles of early American cultures? ]

    [ No?? ]

    [ Then, USE REFERENCE. ]

    [ ]

With the coming of the space age, and generations of men never seeing a habitable planet, so came the space illness, settling in many varied ways, and causing mankind to splinter into groups trying to keep an indentity amongst the madness.
One such group became convinced they are descended from the Maya of Earth.

Astarsia - Errr... You could always use a search engine. Just do a GOOGLE image search using parameters like "ancient american" or "mayan costume" or something like that.

I loved the results from everyone here!

Critiques and overpaints of my work are both welcome and encouraged, as I am fairly new to the art of sketching.

Agree. Really cool ideas for this topic! Reminding me somewhat of the concepts for "The Fifth Element" by Luc Besson. Why must spacesuits always look like spacesuits?

DOH! I knew I'd seen it somewhere before

I read the description and got this mental image of a big, clunky gold spacesuit. Looking at it again, I think I filled in the gaps with one of those yellow CDC Bio-Hazard suits
