    REMINDER: Spectrum deadline is Monday!

OK folks, if you get off your lazy asses and down to the P.O. you can still make it.

I was so excited about this a couple of months ago until I received the call for entries poster and learned that they don't accept entries digitally. I was unable to photograph my entry well enough, and so I started searching for art photographers in my area and gave up because it all seemed out of my league, after I found out how much a large print would cost and then shipping it and the photography.

    Oh well. Always next year's...

As long as the original file is high enough quality, good desktop printer prints are fine. They're what I always submit.

I often use our office printer as well, rather than the actual tear sheets. BUT, do be sure you are happy with the prints you make. Last time I was a judge I was surprised how many people handicapped themselves with bad prints. I kept thinking, "I _might_ like that...I just can't see it well enough." I doesn't have to cost much...but be sure you are giving yourself a fighting chance!

Thanks for the ideas, guys! I can't even believe I never even considered my home printer, which happens to be a great printer! Now, if I can just get the photo of the painting to come out well enough, I may still be in the game....

To you Spectrum veterans....when do you find out if you're in or not? I mean does it take long after judging?

    and when is judging btw?

ahhhhh, I can't take the suspense......

Welp, I sent mine by Fedex today, guaranteed to make it by Monday. Doubt if it will come close to getting into the book, but I had to try anyhow.
