Dibujio::Guru: lol go check out some old masters, I'm just some kiddo

Ahm. Excuse me? Where the hell did 2009 go!?

    Some stuff from oh-nine:

    2nd of January 2009
    mo' alchemy!

    eventually turned into this:

And then.. hm well, I did a ton of exercises most of the year, not much doodeling, nothing interesting

    11th of February 2009
I put the original on the left, then draw a "construct" with just lines by eye. It's to develop accuracy in judging proportions, still one of my major weaknesses and time-wasters in drawing from life. I usually do them at different sizes and then after the time is up (usually 15 or 30 minutes) I dublicate the line layer, put it over the original image and resize to fit best, then color-code the accuracy. Green = good, Orange = nah, Red = wtf?

I imagine these are incredibly boring to look at but here are some variations for the nerds among us

and maybe a tiny bit more interesting for some, a while ago I started writing down notes

    aaanywhooo
    back to other things:

    31st of January 2009
giovanni, the écorché dude! Unfortunately this is the only picture I have of him.. before abandoning him I had the major muscles in on one side - what a brilliant exercise, I HAVE TO do another one and finish it!! So much learning in doing this!

    5th of March 2009
    figure painting with Jered!

    25th of May 2009
    Leg study

    27th of May 2009
After J. D. Harding - not even close....

    8th of June 2009
Another one - getting ready for HRF!

    28th of June 2009
Jammin with my man Juan Pablo Ruiz Carpio

    July 2009
Hudson River Fellowship - what an incredible month...........
felt soooo good to be out in nature!!
Thanks to everybody at the fellowship, what an awesome group...!!

    some things I learned there

some things I've drawn and painted there:

    hooope ya diggit!

Dorian those are awesome! The landscape studies are beautiful, and the proportion studies are a really interesting idea, I think I will make those a daily exercise, since proportion is a constant issue for me. It's so awesome that you went to the HRF, I want to go to school studying under Jacob Collins in the Grand Central Academy once I graduate high school, what did you think of him and the other leaders of the fellowship? Thank you for making that other thread on the fellowship, what a goldmine of information. Your journey is inspiring, and although I do not believe I have ever commented on your work, your work and progress has been a big inspiration to me over the past year and has led me to pursue the path of a strong classical realism education. Thank you very much for posting your work up on the boards .
